So I have the "Vaulters" and "Supremecy" DLC's and if for some unkown reason its any different when the "Umbral Choir" Shows up in the mix then to bad cause I'm conflicted now. (This is a Rant).
So forgoing my recent mood swings I am going to be clear.
When the Endless Space 2 first came out the Tech Tree was split into boxes for each era that were near teh top of the screen. Problem there, to small. Yet it had Lots of colors and made it look modern while combining Endless Space's and Endless Legends Tech Trees.
Yet we were all conflicted on it and didn't know how to fix it so we were like why not just make it like the first games.... I after all this time disagree. Why you may ask?
"The FIRST GAME."
Granted we all love that game, except I couldn't understand or get "INTO" the game despite having it and playing more than a few games.
Just like then Looking at the tech tree I have no sense of imprtance when I'm picking reasearches. At least with Endless Legend everything was sorted into the Era's and MOST importantly. Tose beautifal pictures were clear and visible, and unless I'm remembering incorrectly so did the first iteration of the Tech tree.
I mean I go into the tech tree now and there are basically two options zoom in and get a mute colored for choice zoom in on the center, THEN I can drag or double click the side I want which then fills my screen with... A part of the tech tree for the section... Uh HUH. Real nice.
Now there are many counter arguments the major that comes to mind being stop being lazy and deal with the click and drag... No.
If anything about this while I may be wrong, (For some reason) and at the time I did agree with the change to the tech tree, when I'm playing and more than half the confusing tech tree relates tot eh Behemoth superweapons I begin to question what the heck happened to the rest of the tech tree. I swear its missing things even if it's not.
(Also just me, but playing as the vaulters I feel that the huge amount of utility slots are wasted when you have maybe only three different modules to put in them. Maybe I just had a bad game, but 10 researches left in the tech tree and none of them give me the other utility pieces I'm looking for. Even that 80 science per destroyed capital unless you put it on every ship like the biomass factories from Endless dungeon its better to just put the repair piece).
Bah, a rants a rant, yet an important one. I should just stick to the Lumerus and buy everything.
Now that thats gone I will say teh tech tree just feels to muted and without substance to make it feel important, as with a few other things as more gets added to the game. If there were an alternative tech tree similiar to the one when the game first started then sure, I rather thought it made it looke like what the person in charge of the empire would see when they were managing everythign on their coomputer system. Crisp and clean. Something I wish the diplomacy had instead of flickering guys... Now if it flickered when you are having issues like capital sieged or at war with the other person then sure.(An option thats all I ask there. Either that or a quality DLC that just gives options of the gamplay perspective you get to play from).
Wow... I am a piece of work. heh, Thankyou once again for reading. I apologize if I suddenly make someone question their choices or if it sounds like a well (Rant). -(Also if you find a teh, it means the, I seem to have a typing habit that causes it to do that).
