I've been watching some Total War: Three Kingdoms playthroughs and I liked how there were different tiers to alliances. While I know it might be difficult to implement the same system in ES2 but I think the following could be done:

Make alliances glorified peace treaties (with the usual possibility to sign science agreements and co-operation agreements) BUT without dragging every alliance member into wars.

INSTEAD, make it possible to persuade alliance members to join in your war(s) via the diplomacy screen using influence (and resources if necessary).

If this could be done, it would improve the gameplay experience vastly and possibly be more like how things would work in real life.

It wouldn't require the implementation of the previously discussed and impossible to implement voting system.

It would provide one more thing to spend your influence on.

I'd love it if this was possible.

+1 on this. There should be some kind of alliance vote(if not possible, various quasi-vote) or individual choice on joint war declaration without breaking up alliance.

Unfortunately, this has been asked for in the past (I think it was both asked during and after Alpha) a number of times (I think many others, myself included posted ideas for this a long time ago) and they never implemented it. 

So just hopes that they add this to a possible ES3 : )

I missed PARAdoxiBLE's suggestions thread back when so I couldn't chime in on them.

I believe my suggestion here is very simplistic and I would like to think it is within the realms of being doable.

I'd like the Team to have a look at it before they move onto other projects.

Can't believe this is still not sorted.I am just playing with a limited to 2 alliance mod just to lessen the bad system a bit.
