I invite koxsos and other Lumeris players to join:

1. Why no Meos choice in Chapter 1? We have 3 Families out of 4 - Arrakyo, Lancellum, Omokar... Meos are left out. (Answered)

2.  In Chapter 1, Part 1 - a requirement of Lancellum branch is not only too big (50% of Galaxy discovered), especially taking onto account other 2 requirements(assimilating a minor civ and Y). Discovering 50% of Galaxy, on Normal speed, takes about 50 turns(4 players-size), warp, ~10 extrafast explorers. also the followup questreward is lackluster, see 3. 25% would be a-ok.

3. Reward in Chapter 1, Part 2, Lancellum is lackluster  as not only it gives basically a regular engine for that much of a leg-work, it's also worse than a reward for a Exploration Quest: Unexpected Entropy Chapter 1 reward - Scavenged Ramscoop - that will be recieved earlier, as it's for discovering 4 systems of different constelation.  It's similar to Sainted Speed of Vodyani (also 3 movement speed) gathered at similar time as Scavenged Ramscoop.

4. Reward in Chapter 2, Ecologists party choice is another lackluster compared to Industrialists(by PARAdoxiBLE)  Link to thread

X.

Will edit more after gathering data.

Misc:

Adding a progress indicator on the amount of HUGE planets you own already towards the indy path questline. (by koxsos)  Link to thread

Adding progress indicator on the percentage of galaxy explored for a Chapter 1 quest (and lowering that percentage to 25%)

Honorable mentions:

Dust is lackluster (by koxsos)

I can't address your balance concerns about the objectives and rewards without consulting the designers and producers, but I do think I have an answer to question 1:

As far as I remember, the quests are written from the point of view of Jenestra Omalfi'Meos, who is currently in power, and I figure that even in a rather cut-throat society like the Lumeris, nepotism and otherwise favoring your own (vastly extended) family is frowned upon and against The Code.

But intro also introduces this new rogue element, who breakes the rules!
There you go, quest option open, all canon friendly. =D

I believe the whole questline is about empowering the rogue element so that he can do his things, so it starts with everyone still playing by the rules.
