Hey. I made a video talking about Nakalim. It's, ya know, longish. so its a grab the crackers and lay up in bed and unwind kind of video. I also don't know what I'm doing with recording and audio, so there's that.

NOTE: I incorrectly talk about Microwave Pipes [23:05] as giving half the science (it gives the +2 per pop, but that is reduced to zero) and Unassigned Relics [8:48] do not get penalized (by Beliefs not Breakthroughs) because they are not on the system level.

One of the things I don't mention about the Nakalim early game is that you should:

1) Use the market to buy Hyperium probes (especially) and engines for your explorers/hero on Turn 1

2) AND get the Naka population booster. It's just good, and there is a bug where the condition that states "on planets with Temple of the Lost" actually still gives you the +2 approval despite it.

I say Turn 1, but the market doesn't populate until Turn 2, which I think is an oversight for this faction. Sometimes your pop booster won't be in the market either. All this is pricy to accomplish in Turn 1-2, but you can get lucky and score some Hyperium (and other saleable luxuries) in your home system in turn 1 from a curiosity.

3) Put your System Development (Level 2) in place quickly. You're miles ahead of others on this, and if you can quickly discover what luxuries are around to support your level 2, assuming they are a relatively decent option, you should do so. The first System Development only takes one turn to complete, irrespective of industry, so it is extremely friendly to new colonies and early game.
