I have heard the idea of a RPG game setting going around with the community set in the endless universe, but what about a endless game that uses the X4 style gameplay set during endless space 2, starting with a single ship or 2, and build your way up from just another soul in the galaxy to whatever you want, from a fleet admiral fighting for the hissho nation, to a interstellar corporation taking advantage of lumeris greed. Imagine creating your characters look and species and choosing their starting situation as a pilot, explorer, warrior, businessman and more. Going to unique and iconic planets like Tor, Uchi, Sykagoja, Veil, and Raia. And while this may be too ambitious but imagine also landing on planets and visiting known and unknown sites on the planet, like Veils hokyu temple in the blood and blade comic or auriga's grand structure near its top. But the best part i think would be changing the balance of power of the factions of the endless universe, like driving the cravers into the soil, uniting the lumeris under 1 undisputed rule, teaching horatio there is no such thing as true perfection, and making the hissho the strongest nation in the game,  or more drastically bringing new factions in. For example, you go to auriga with a colony ship, not to make a new home, but to save a species or 2, like bringing the major drakken species and the minor factions of the nidya and geldirus from auriga and placing them on a new habitable planet, helping them to become a new power in the the galaxy. This is type of game i would really want to see come out in the future after humankind and endless dungeon.

Ummm...wow. I had not really thought of this but I don't just think it is a question of being too ambitious (that's a lot of different genres mashed together), but how would you make a game like that work? Would it be a space flight sim? Or something else entirely? Because if it is a space flight sim...that's a whole can of worms to go through right there. Especially if it is an X4 like game. But you would have to consider that Amplitude is a strategy game studio first and foremost...they would need to hire a whole bunch of talent to make the other parts of the game. I just don't see it working. Not without a whole lot of investment from Sega. And then there is the market...would the fans of Endless Space 2 really want to invest time in a FPS flight sim?

I don't know but it might be interesting to find out.
