so i have the latest ship and weapons upgrade.  so i used the biggest ship and anti matter weapons and defenses.

the weird thing is i been beating the ai when they have inferior ship upgrades but then later on when they got their latest ship upgrade, they started doing damage that was unusual- i have a fleet with 3 biggest ship and anti matter weapon and defense vs their fleet with only 1 biggest ship and they only suffer small damage and one of mine got killed, that doesn't seem right.

also i notice ai factions' influence grows way faster than mine.

do you think they cheat on higher difficulty setting?

I'm no dev so I can't confirm it 100% but it is very common in 4X and strategy game in general to have a cheating AI at higher difficulty level.

It was the case in ES and EL as far as I know.

Usually the cheat are more income wise (+100% production or +50 hapiness for example) than raw army stats (since the income bonus would provide more army).

For now the AI is indeed receiving FIDS bonuses in higher difficulties (above "Normal"), but its military stats should be the same. Maybe they picked a good play to counter yours?

Anyways if you think there's a problem don't hesitate to send us a save and we'll take a look.

oh hey thanks.  good to have a dev team member address this.  its just that i been winning all along against their lesser ship classes and all a sudden they start to overpower me.  and the situation it happens in is unusual in that a fleet of my 3 biggest against their 1 fleet of 1 biggest and i was losing to them - i had all my biggest outfitted with either adamantine and/or anti-matter and these are strongest material so far , so thats weird.  

i mean if  situation is like 3 of my biggest vs 3 of their's and we both like lose 2 ship or close win/lose, i call that normal.
