Tips on construction priority?

Hello all, I'd like some help regarding what to build first in a system. I've played Civilization 5-6, Endless Space (although I never really got into it due to the cluster of madness called ship building), Endless Legend and now Endless Space 2, and in all games I've kinda made it a rule of thumb to begin with industry/production, followed by food, approval/happiness, science/reasearch, gold/dust and lastly influence (at least in the endless series) with some ships/troops thrown into the queue every now and then to make sure I don't leave myself defenseless.


So my start looks like this:


Drone Network

Cerebral Reality

Xeno-Industrial Infrastructure

Combat Ship

Sustainable Farms (unless I play Riftborn, then I'll forgo this)

Infinite Supermarkets

Public-Private Partnerships

Combat Ship


All these improvements give flat bonuses, and after that last ship I start building +resource per population improvements, in the same order as mentioned above.


Is it decent, or should I prioritize something else? Should I add resource-per-pop improvements earlier into the queue?

Sounds good to me :). I'd insert a colonizer ASAP, for example after cerebral reality.


Also look out for contextual buildings ; you can really unfold their full potential if you build them in the correct system. Xeno-Industrial Infrastructure shouldn't be a default building in your queue unless you have nothing else to build, or unless it fits with the context of your star system (in that case build it ASAP!)


If you want to optimize I'd also forego Infinite Supermarkets and instead take the law which gives +20  -10%  from turn 1.

You mean planets that corresponds with one of the bonuses (+10 on system with hot)?

I go for combat ship and colonizer right after cerebral reality and xeno stuff. I am used to priorise colonization, territory defense and military expansion with almost every factions. Most of the time my capaital go for a fleet production and all my new colony (as much as I can create) go for an economic development.

I many times just skip the drone: +5 ind/food -2 dust for 160 industry cost... many times not worth it. If my early system is temperate/fertile is simply go directly for Xeno-Industrial.
