Is there a way to do this? I'd rather not have Cravers as part of my Empire.

Hi,

In my previous game as Unfallen, I selected an isolated system (really small and not connected with other nodes) to exiled every population I would not keep in my empire. With this way I could choose wich population will growth and wich will wait in orbit around the exiled system.

Shame I was hoping for another way akin to Space Genocide.

Well, there is an other way, when you select to transform on population on manpower. (But it's hard to know which population will die)

If you want to see a new feature in the game, I suggest you to check ideas here, or even to create one if you don't found your wish =)

I just ship 'em to a full system. They'll spend eternity waiting to go through customs (unless some enemy ship wander by and nets a few grand).

Alternatively, you could collect them all on some unwanted system and abandon it ...

I wish we could highlight one or pick one when we do a recruitment or imprisonment whatever that thing is called?

Yar, a drop box where the population could be placed for "chain gang"; similar in nature to the space transports.

Horatio gets a faction unique t4 tech near the ship hulls that lets you transform lesser species to Horatio

In the population management screen, the game needs a "support, ignore, genocide" option for each species group. Support would cost food, but encourage growth, ignore would do nothing, and genocide would kill a population per turn while giving a penalty to happiness per that pop type for your entire empire.

Shameless plug

Morally ambiguous population solutions

I dont think getting rid of populations should be easy and free unless it makes sense thematically or you make some sacrifices elsewhere. Cravers should probably have the easiest and most benificial method while riftborn might be able to simply asphyxiate them out.

As for how to impliment it. I wouldnt mind the removal of poulatoin to be in the production queue but i think thematically it should probably be in the population management screen. Spend luxuries to up population, spend influence, happiness and manpower to get rid of them. Could be different costs associated with different races.
