How to create an All-in-one galaxy

Hey there!


So i'm trying to create a rather specific galaxy to play with my custom gene hunter faction. Although i got a lot of info from this forum (mostly from CyRob posts) i still need some clarification on some things.


1. Maximum size galaxy with all Major Factions and max values for curiosities count, resource deposits, minor factions, special nodes etc.

2. All 8 unique planets;

But i guess i can just switch this parameter to 8 in WorldSettingDefinitions.xml


3. All luxury resourses;

Though when i set it all to 8/8/8 i still couldn't get all 8 for each tier.


4. All minor factions with specific (not random) faction traits.

 

a) Not sure how to make all 16 minor factions to be generated for sure (though i think i once got all 16 even in just a Huge galaxy with a high amount of minor factions). And if u can make at least 2 colonies of each that would be nice.


b) What about specific traits

5. Is there a way to make a game with Sheredyn and Mezari UE factions as well?

I tried to play with Endless Space 2\Public\Simulation\Factions[Major].xml specifically with this line with Standard and Hidden values, (example):

MajorFaction Priority="50" Author="AMPLITUDE Studios" Standard="false" Name="FactionMezari" Hidden="true">

I was able to see them in game but when i tried to add them as AIs game just won't load. I also tried to create a custom faction and then change it's affinity to Mezari and Sheredyn( <MajorPopulation Count="2" Affinity="AffinityMezari"/> instead of line of numbers in custom faction xml which u can find in your documents) to the same effect, game won't load with them.


6. How do i get most of (all if possible) tactics and special buildings from curiousities in one galaxy?


7. Is there any other values i should consider modifying (like anomalies, curiosities, loot numbers) in order to get most of them and not to break the game since i'm modifying some values? :D


TL;DR: I want to make as much as possible available content in one galaxy, how do i do it?

Glad that my posts have been some help,


1) I'm assuming this is the base settings you’re going to use or do you need clarification on some aspect?


2) I could have sworn it was 8 for the largest galaxy size, guess not (or maybe it changed? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

It is safe to manually edit it to 8 but anything above 8 with cause infinite loading screens.


3) The Luxury Quantity is the base number of deposits made in the galaxy (modified by other settings) the resource visible means that they are the ones that spawn discover and not as a probe-able curiosity, don't know how changing that fixed the issue, it may have been luck.

(Were the missing common luxuries the last 2? as I did have an issue of them sometimes not appearing; I talked about it in is this post)


4a) While I'm not sure I expect the galaxy generation will want to create as many different types of minor factions as it's allowed

(you could try tweaking the MinorFactionsCount and see what happens)


4b) The only way I can currently see of having the minor faction have specific traits is do duplication them in the files and set it so the originals have one trait and the copies have the other.

(Having duplicate traits is not a bad thing, I do believe that they stack is the trait is assimilated one than once)


5) I Would Imagen that the hidden Sheredyn and Mezari factions are not fully set up and so trying to use them causes the game to try find things that don't exist (E.G. The Mezari Faction Main Quest Chain) a solution that will work (if you like it) is to create a custom UE faction that spawns with extra Sheredyn or Mezari Pops.

I have a mod on the workshop that add traits that can do this  Major Factions Starting Populations


6) If you explore enough curiosities I expect you will get them all, The main thing here is too make sure there is tons of them and to create many exploration fleets to scan them before the other empires do.


7) The galaxy generation generally only breaks when it's asked to do something that it doesn’t have the resources for;

E.G. Create more star systems then there is star system names, It's like asking a printer to print without paper.

I don't expect changing the numbers on anomalies, curiosities & loot will cause an issue but you can always look at the diagnostic if one happens it tells you what's gone wrong if you can decipher it.

1. Yea just basic in-game settings here that i'm gonna use.


2. All good here too, just set it to 8.


3. It actually didn't affect it as i found out today but when I changed resource visibility for the first time yea i guess i got somewhat lucky and got 2 galaxies in a row with all 8 types of first tier (that's why edited my post later). Thanks for that link didn't see that thread before and i can strongly relate to all what written there - i'm having all the same issues. Also i think luxuries gui was fixed in the upcoming patch.


4. a) Tried to set it to 16 and pretty much my whole galaxy was like only minor factions :D


4. b) I'm good with having duplicate traits (they do stack) it's just for some factions i prefer just one specific trait. For example for hisshos i'd rather always have Hunting Culture (+20% Damage on weapon modules) than Mud Stompers I (-10% Troop Manpower cost on Empire). And tweaking weights of those traits as i wrote (edited) works just fine.

6. Yea feels like in Gigantic galaxy there are more than enough curiosities as it is.
