Hello,

each game I play against AI or Humans is basically resumed to rushing Isyander fleet. Once done, the one who control it dominate the game, it's really not funny.

Any ideas how to play against that? This fleet can be controlled early in the game (turn 21 in fast speed).

Thanks.

Unless this gets another balance pass, the best bet is probably to disable Awakening and play without it. This is exactly the reason I haven't even bothered to buy it.

I can understand if you're playing against humans but against the AI? Seriously? I have not had this ever be problem of the magnitude some people are making it out to be. The fleet is tme limited. The academy can be hacked. You can broker peace deals with the AI until you can counter it. The chances that it actually targets your colonies should be pretty small considering that there are potentially 8+ other players in your game.

How is this such a huge deal breaker that people have to disable the whole expansion? I mean sure for multiplay it would be annoying (which I don't ever play) but for normal matches against the AI...no way is it such a huge deal.

I've successfully defended against the spear with "Dark Glitter" as my T1 SI.

Dark Glitter is one of the luxury resources you can use for system improvement.  It's got a relatively milquetoast +200 manpower capacity on the system it's put on, however, it's got one other effect that's quite gonzo:  every turn of an invasion, you recover 75 manpower.  It's a mechanic that's present almost nowhere else in the game.  The closest thing to what it does is the Draft defensive strategy (which it does stack with).  Using that, and a couple uses of Draft, I was able to hold a system that had "Impervious Bunkers" as it's only other defensive building, and I was able to hold it for the full 20-turn duration of the Spear.  Didn't lose a single colony.  (note also: multiple SI levels of it stack)

Dark Glitter is criminally underrated.  I only use it if I think there's a genuine chance I'm going to be fighting a defensive war, but it's a lifesaver when there is such a war.

Well if you are able to hack the homesystem of the current owner you can stop fleetmovement. That can help a lot. :)

You might be right, but in one game it seemed ro work for me. Not sure though, it might have been a lucky coincidence that they didn't use the fleet against me.

Against AI it is the opposite. You get a big boy fleet and instakill your closest enemy, 0 resources spent, while developing your systems. You always know how much you need to win the competition. ES2 is already insanely easy on endless difficulty, even without Awakening :c

And you always get the fleet? No matter who you're playing as and what your starting position is in the galaxy? On Endless?

Well you are a better player than me by far. I've never been able to always guarantee that I get the fleet first so I guess it doesn't seem so overpowered to me.

Is Isyander's fleets supposed to not take ANY damage?

I showed up with a massive army to one of his fleets and they just are completely invulnerable. This is horse shit.
