Hi all

I am trying to get my head around the Umbral choir as I like the idea of playing a stealthy spy faction that can apear from the shadowsand strike.   I am giving them a go atm and have come across a few things I dont understand and have thought up a few questions.

1.If someone performs a trace to my hone planet can they now permenantly see me/Hack me if I dont move or do I re stealth unless they have a stealth detection ship on my node?

2. Can enemies plant sleepers on my system as UC specifically?

3. If there is a defenisve program on an enemy system where I have a sanctury mine or the enemies.   will this trigger a trace or is it only when a hack is on the destination of a path? (If this isn't a great explination I will try and get some pictures later)

4.How do I hack another system that has no star lane connecting it and it says its too far to hack?

5.Is there any way to see what an enemy can build when you have a sleeper like in EL or can you only see thier build que?

6.How do you see what they are building when when you have a sanctuary on the system?  I have a sleeper as well but I cant see anything as the sanctuary UI is where the build que would be so I cant see anything they are building. Not sure if this is a bug or I need to press a button to display it and just havent noticed.

7.When you have sleeper on a system can you somehow see what they have built like in EL.

8.Is there anyway to see an enemy ships modules/the ship's designs?

9.I I have 2 sancturies on enemy planets that are 1 turn away from each other (travel distance) but both have defensive programmes.  does this prevent them from hacking each other unless I can some how get my hack speed to 1 turn? (as it is about 3 turns to begin with).

10. If the enemy has defensive programs on a choke point and I am unable to use the lanes to create a long enough route to hack is there anyway way of hacking or would I need to just build ships and destroy thier coloney to open up the route?.

If I think of anymore I will add them and if I can I will add some pictures later to help explain some of my questions.

Thanks ?

1. They will continue to see you unless you move.

2. I don't think there is anything stopping them from doing so.

3. Only if the defensive program is in the path of the hack.

4. Find more star systems around to make a path, research wormholes and see if there is a wormhole there.

5-7. I think you can see on a certain condition, idk which one, I never looked into that.

8. No. Though you can guess by looking at their stats.

9. If you make a longer path, you can hack from one system to another.

10. Try to find a way around it, there may be a special node off lane (unless theres Umbral Choir AI, there are never any defensive programs on those). Other than that, on fast speed at least if the route takes ~8 turns to hack the system, it should be a success. You can use some defensive programs to slow down the trace as well. You may also use an offensive program.

Just thought of a new question.

11. If I am invisible will putting a defensive program on my home system give me away? (To human playrrs  as I assume the AI will still just ignore me unless thry scout me accidentily)

Thanks fpr the reply.  In regards to 9 I thiml think when I get the pics on it will help my explinatuon but I essentially cant reroute it to itger nodes as the only paths have enemy defwnsive programs on it.  My Friend said it might be a Heratio thing as he said his mate got found by thrn when he was playing UC.  Considering we are on normal they seem to have a lot of defenaive programmes.

Putting a defensive on your home system is an instant give away of where you are. You will still be invisible, but the human player will know where you are. As Umbral Choir I would actually advise against ever putting a defensive program on your home system for that fact, regardless of if its against a human player or AI.

I thoughtthat would be the case but doesn't that leave you vulnerable  to hacking?  Also just thought if you have sleepers on your system but relocate do the sleepers remain or are they wiped?

1. People don't know where you are unless you are: A) detected by decloaking modules, B) your node gets hacked by another UC player trying to place a beacon there. There is no point in defending from hacks from people that aren't UC if they don't know where you are. Also you get a special notification when you are hacked or detected anyway, so you know when you should relocate.

Basically, no point in defending from hacks when you are invisible and cannot be hacked by 11/12 factions in the game as no one but UC can hack special nodes. UC when hacking can only reveal you, not place any sleepers.

2. I was never hacked while playing as UC, but if you are concerned, sleepers should remain on your system.
