Hi! I don't know if this might have been patched out recently, haven't had much time to play; but I used to frequently get cheesed by the AI where they would declare a cease fire, then park a planet buster in one of my systems (I like to keep those on, just not the Supremacy DLC), and charge it for the duration of the cease fire.

Then once that pact ended, they would just blast my planet. Even if I kept a patrol or something parke right next to them to chase them away once the cease fire ended.

Is there a defense against this where I can still accept offers of peace?

I assume you mean a Planet Cracker and not an Obliterator correct? There's a major difference between the two as a Planet Cracker is a specialized Carrier/Dreadnought that is completely defenseless to other ships(it can't fight back) that uses its special weapon(Planet Cracker) to destroy a single planet on a system. An Obliterator is an upgraded/specialized Behemoth that fires a projectile at a system's sun. Doing so destroys all planets within the system and makes the system completely useless. Furthermore, the effects done by Planet Crackers can be undone/restored to normal by Behemoths with restoration modules while an Obliterators effect can not(although it can be countered with Citadels and System Shields).

My advice to you is that when you see Planet Crackers or Obliterators, seek them out and eliminate them at the first opportunity. May take multiple fleets to guard systems for interception but its worthwhile to remove them from play.

I'm pretty sure there's diplomacy options for this- assuming you mean the Planet Cracker carriers parking on your system during ceasefire. If you can't nullify the ceasefire entirely (at an influence cost), you can almost certainly use the contextual diplomacy thing to pressure them.

Yes, these are the planet cracker ships. And I cannot attack them because we are under ceasefire agreement, and no they refuse to leave my systems.

Bunch of jerks :'c

Maybe this has been ironed out over the last updates. Like I said, it's been a while.

Even though you're under a banner of truce, nothing says you can't spend the Diplomatic currency(aka influence, unless Militarists are in power) to Declare War on the faction that is parking their ships on your system. Doing so will allow you to immediately attack their ships and send a message to them that their truce means jack $hit to you and that you want their blood. Declaring War under a banner of truce always cost more influence compared to a typical state of Cold War but it's not prohibited either. If you don't like their ships on your system, give them the boot with a war declaration.
