Titanium Shrapnel Impact

So I've been looking for information on what weapons are actually impacted by Titanium Sharpnel. None of my weapons seem to deal crew damage directly, nor can I find anything about calculating what a weapon's damage to crew might be short of using boarding pods, and titanium shrapnel is obviously not intended JUST for boarding pods.


Solved: I was looking too low on the module tiers in science.

Ships can have up to 20% damage bonus regardless of their weapon setup, so without manpower you lose that.

Yes that's exactly what I mean. I've been looking for that, but so far the ONLY one I can find is the freaking Assault Pots and Titanium Shrapnel comes significantly before that.


I see stuff that mentions beam modules have them, but nothing I've found in the game helps back that up so far, maybe I'm just blind?

Well yeah, all modules that damage manpower are at least tier above, unless you are lucky to find corresponding curiosity module earlier

aaaah I see now. It's all in the third tier. That's so weird, why is titanium shrapnel in the tier below then?
