Hoping this is the right place to ask, but I guess I am just confused as to how I am losing battles against the computer in the mid-late game while often having the advantage before combat. I definitely lack a good understanding of flotillas for sure, but I feel like there is more that I am missing. I used to have no issue tackling the higher difficulties against AI before the fighters/bombers update. Now I definitely don't feel confident in my understanding of combat.

In a recent game for example, I had a military behemoth come under attack by an enemy fleet. The fleet wiped out my behemoth like it was nothing. My behemoth was mostly sporting rockets and the enemy fleet was pretty large so I wasn't expecting to win. What confuses me though is how I did 0 damage (minus killing 2 bombers) when it had a blast effect battery on it that says it does 2000 per phase. Yet I died in phase 2 without having them do any damage at all. Could they miss? Anyone able to shed some light on this? I'm guessing the rest of my damage was not inflicted because I was using rockets along with one swarm module and they were destroyed by flak. The blast effect battery doing 0 is what confuses me though. I've attached some screenshots to hopefully get some answers on this.

I see that enemy fleet is marked as cloacked. Can it be that the enemy has a cloacked ambush module installed? Because in that case the first phase could be skipped entirely by riftborn cloacked fleets on getting in range.

Ahh, I didn't even consider that. I haven't played in months and totally forgot about the ambush module. What about phase 2 not doing any damage though? My ship went down right as it hit phase 2 so maybe it fired but didn't "hit" before the battle ended?
