I just bought the game and I can't even get into a game because ffdshow crashes every time I try to load into a new game, I used -novideo but that only works for the intro video and every time I click on the research tree it crashes on me as well.

R9 390, i7 4790@4.5, 16gb ram etc, way more than enough to play the game.

What are your system specs from both Steam-Help -System Information and DXDiag

I've seen another game where Windows 10 N (some kind of ultra low cost version of Windows 10) doesn't have a specific codec built into the OS which causes issues playing movies of a certain type. Do ou have such a version of Windows?
