Crash on first time startup of game

Description

When I load the game for the first time from steam on my laptop, steam installs DirectX and the game loads up. On the screen that says Endless Space 2 (with the small white loading bar at the bottom) the bar fills up and once full after about 10 seconds the game crashes and brings up a secondary window detailing the location of the crash report file.

on steam right click on the game in your library, select properties, go to local files tab and select verify cache integrity

I've done that now and it said 1 file failed to validate so will be reaquired but the game still crashes in the same place for the same reason.

After reading the output log of the game before the crash I can see that the game is failing to load shaders as they are unsupported by the application. Also the shaders folder in the application files is empty.

Devs, have you got any idea?

do you run the game as admin? It can sometimes help. Also can you give me your OS/specs ?

I think the issue is my graphics card. It is not as good as the minimum requirement so the game can't load all the 3D graphics.

Can you post your system specs from Steam-Help-System Information

However your symptoms seem to indicate you're running on an Intel GPU. Currently Intel GPUs are not supported. You can try to update your intel driver from intel.com directly. However YMMV.
