I have a Ge-force GTX 660 TI with with 2 GB gram, a Intel Core i7-6700 CPU and 16.00 GB RAM. Before patch I had no trouble playing the game on max setting but after patch the first space combat I viewed was a 4 vs 4 ship combat that  became so slow with just a few frames per second so I almost tab out to kill the game. In the strategic map I had no issues.

Hvae you tried re-verifying your game cache.

Also does this issue happen only with previous saves, or on new games as well?

i noticed the same on a GTX970 and a new game.  The ships seem to move and fire but then there is a brief pause before they move again. It was smooth before the patch

I noticed this too. I have a GTX1070 and went from smooth 60fps battles before the patch to regular stuttering after (erratic jumps between 20-45fps). This was happening in a new game.

After the patch the game is barely playable for me.

I noticed the fps drops, but my vcard is just tanking through it (GTX980)

But the top problem is the increasing memory leak lag

- it is basically impossible to play by turn 30+ because everything slows down to a crawl

- there are noticeable hiccups in turn processing

- every window I open and close is lagging

- during AI turn whole thing freezes for a minute or two

- and when I try to exit the game to desktop it just freezes dead and crashes with "Stopped working" ntification.

All of that on Intel processor i7-4790K with 16Gb ram...

That would be an obscene amount of memory leaks I have seen to date.

Dude I just don't understand one thing.

The glaring performance problems are as easy to spot as to play a single game to turn 20.

You don't need community help or awesome QA to see something is very, very wrong.

So, how this makes into a release build?

The elusive last-minute commit. It's most certainly something that's been added to the game in the last couple of days, and it doesn't show up at all in dev builds or the editor.
