AMD just posted 17.4.2 today and there was a Windows cumulative update as well. I'm testing it right now to see if there are any issues remaining. You can also find the link to the last stable AMD driver at that link as well.

Update: Just tried the new drivers and the flickering screen is still a problem. Rolling back to 17.2.1 since it's last stable drivers at the moment.

Hi there's a new beta that should address issues with the 17.4 drivers

If you haven't downgraded to 17.2 yet, please try this new beta patch and report if it resolves your issue

For others if you could reinstall the latest 17.4 drivers and report back your findings

Confirmed the patch is working with my pc, RX470 4GB with 17.4.4 driver on Windows 10.

Update: The latest driver version, 17.4.4, also have the same issue as previous 17.4 drivers on windows 10. For those who wants to play ES2 on AMD GPU might want to consider holding on to 17.2 for the moment.

Hi Squiky,

First go get the last stable version (17.2.1) installer, either from internet or from your installer archive folder on C: (usually it's on C:/AMD), and copied to somewhere that is easily accessible (like your desktop).

Then, uninstall the current driver, preferably using DDU

Lastly, run the 17.2.1 installer, and you have managed to rollback to 17.2.1.

The latest driver version, 17.4.3, also have the same issue. For those who wants to play ES2 on AMD GPU might want to consider holding on to 17.2 for the moment.

Have just installed last AMD driver 17.4.2

The issue remains. Game unplayable

The latest AMD drivers are unstable with the game

You'll need to downgrade to 17.2

Hi,

I have about 8 hours logged in Endless Space 2 and prior to this update everything was working great.

I've tried re-installing the game, verifying local files but nothing helped.

I'm on windows 10 with an R9 390x desktop.

I'm on the latest 17.4.1 AMD drivers.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have this too. Glad to know now what the problem was.

@Sulendil just in case you see this, what is DDU? Actually I´m always having problems when trying to update my R9 380 drivers. The GPU works great, but AMD software sux, as far as I know.

Edit: Never mind, I found it at Guru3D, thanks for the tip

I'm going to chime in and say that I recently had to roll back my drivers to 17.2.1 because 17.4.1 was not only affecting Endless Space 2 but other games as well. Someone over at the AMD support forums said that it was an issue with 17.4.1 and Windows 10 Creators Edition; they said that it should be resolved on the 11th of April. So fingers crossed!

I also have the same issue after upgrading the graphic driver to 17.4.1 driver (using RX470 4GB), seems like it's a driver issue.

UPDATE: Confirmed fixed after uninstall the driver using DDU and install the 17.2.1 driver. Maybe you can try this solution first?
