Try run steam as an administrator and verify the game cache then run the game as an administrator.

If you see a freetyp6.dll error in your output_log.txt it means your vcredist installation is corrupted.

* Go to C:\windows\system32
* Rename msvcr100.dll to something else
* Run <steam>\steamapps\common\Endless Space 2\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\vcredist_x64.exe
* REBOOT

Looking at the "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" stacks the problem is definitely with freetype6.dll

(all the NullReferenceException's are caused by it trying and failing to generate text visuals)

Here is mine: freetype6.dll Try replacing yours with it and see if it works.

This program does not progress to the main menu and requires an alt f4 to end.

File uploads can only up to 4MB so that might be the issue.

Those warnings are harmless and I believe they happen to everyone in this version of the game

You should be able to upload the file by clicking on the upload file button

The Error that I can see is

DllNotFoundException: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Endless Space 2/EndlessSpace2_Data/Plugins/freetype6.dll

Your missing part of the game files. (freetype6.dll is used to render fonts, The game can't run without it)

check that folder for the file and if it exsists delete it (as something is wrong with it), then Verify your game cache with steam

Then try run the game as administrator.
