[Solved - 1.036] [PC] Main Menu Not Loading - Loading Screen Hangs

I seem to be having a problem that I've seen pop up a couple times here. I'm unable to reach the main menu. The game starts, I see the two splash screens, the loading screen pops up, goes to about 5%, then simply hangs. I've let it sit there for an hour on one occasion before alt+f4.

Probable Cause: I upgraded my PC over this past weekend. Replaced processor, motherboard, and updated from W7 to W10. Also dropped from 16GB RAM to 8GB due to bad stick which will be remedied soon. Game worked fine last week. New specs:

Ryzen 1700 CPU

MSI B350 Carbon mobo

HyperX 8GB RAM

Asus Strix R9 390

W10 Pro

Troubleshooting:

  • Setting game .exe as admin
  • Setting game .exe in W7 compatibility mode
  • Removing Read-only setting in Documents folder and Steam game folder
  • Deleting appropriate Documents folder and running game to create new one - no new folder created
  • Uninstalling game through Steam then reinstalling
  • Deleting Mono folder and verifying files
  • Running game .exe directly

No diagnostics files produced since hardware upgrade.

Any help would be appreciated! If I'm unable to find a workaround, I'm going to do a fresh install of W10 onto a blank SSD and go from there.

Your Output log does seem to end abruptly,

Normaly Just after: (Filename:  Line: 447)

you get something like this: (this is only the first few lines)

The bit you have after: (Filename:  Line: 447) is normaly found at the very end of all output_logs, so it appears that (Filename:  Line: 447) is the point at which something is going wrong.

I must admit, I'm not a dev and I do not know what it is that is going wrong, I just thought that I would let you know that there is an anomaly with your output_log and so the devs may be able to provide insight into what is going wrong for you.

Hy ZumboPrime!

That really looks like a hardware issue ...
Did you try to start another game to see if you had the same problem?

Did you update all the drivers for your new configuration?

My other games were all working fine. I did end up doing the reinstall of the OS and it's working now. Probably hardware drivers conflicting as you suggested.
