I just bought the game and whenever i start the game i get this dialogue

It happens just when the game finishes loading and the menu loads with the menu music, the game is actually still running till i click the ok button which closses it.

I've tried playing and ignoring the crash msg but it crashes around turn 3.

so solved it myself, updated my codec pack
