If I believe my logs, the last time I played ES2 was end of january. (all fine. never ever any problems)

Now with the new patch I wanted to play ES2 again, to see what has changed.

Problem:

If I start the game the two intro videos are played, then I see the loading screen. 

As soon as the loading bar is seen the game crashes and I am back on my desktop instantly.

From january to now nothing was changed neither from hardware nor software side. 

Steam file check says: all ok.

So I assume it was the last patch. Probable.

I'm having EXACTLY this issue.

Have been playing ES2 - Steam updated patch today & now BLAMMO! or in this case, no BLAMMO!  crashes with the progress bar at about halfway to loaded.

C'mon team, please roll-back patch or fix it!

Do you make use of additional antivirus software, like BitDefender or Avast?

Checked it.

It was my Bitdefender. It blocked a file access of ES2.

Set the .exe on trusted and now it works.  :D

I can not remember that my Bitdefender ever blocked a game..
