This is a bit of a strange one! 

I've unable to open the steam overlay in game. It just doesn't have any of the steam functionality. No screenshots, no message popups when someone messages me, no overlay at all. 

I've tried verifying cache, reinstalling the game on my internal/external hard drives, turning the overlay option on and off, running as administrator- to no avail. 

Pls help.

I've been trying a few things throughout the week and found a resolution. I ran Steam itself as administrator and that seems to have fixed it. 

Hope this helps any other guys and gals that have this issue.
