Unable to load saved game with 100+ turns

Yesterday, I had no issues playing through a map, saving and loading the game, etc.

Today, no matter what I do, I get "a serious error has occurred", this is at turn 109.

Interestingly, I did have an autosave at turn 100, which loaded fine, so I picked up from there, played a while, saved, loaded and got the error again.

Unfortunately, replaying these turns (without issues) has overwritten that autosave, and all of the new ones don't load either :(

This is my custom faction, which I have played with many times with no issues. I have no antivirus (really, none, I'm 100% sure there is no m$-ninja overnight AV installed).

Verified the integrity of the game files, deleted the files and redownloaded, restarted the machine etc.

No HW changes, nothing. I have a saved game at turn 1 which loads up just fine, but after playing more than 100 turns yesterday, starting over on the same map is kind of pointless.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I have the modding tools active but I only used this feature to see the map, I did not use the debug menu in the game at any point.

One more thing, if only I could somehow pinpoint exactly what is the cause of the error, I might attempt to fix it myself - the xmls in save files are fairly straightforward and I've experimented with them before, to great success.

I think the error is related to this entry in the diagnostics file:

10:24:02:190    Gameplay    STACK    An exception was raised when executing GameServerState_LaunchGame.

at GameService_CreateGameComplete in :line 0

at OnCreateGameComplete in :line 0

at CreateGameAsync_CoroutineExceptionHandler in :line 0

at Run in :line 0

at MoveNext in :line 0

at InvokeMoveNext in :line 0

But it tells me little.

There is also this one:

10:24:02:190    Gameplay    STACK    Argument is out of range. Parameter name: index at get_Item in :line 0

    at get_Planet in :line 0

    at Bind in :line 0

    at LoadPlanets in :line 0

    at Load in :line 0

    at MoveNext in :line 0

    at Run in :line 0

Again, quite useless.

The next expected thing in the diagnostics file that should take place is [Game] Empire#0 Loaded, like in the turn 1 save file, which loads normally:

12:13:13:624    Default    STACK    The game ancillary (type of: RelicsManager) has been loaded (in 0 second(s)).

12:13:13:956    Default    STACK    Galaxy Seed = 89990

12:13:13:956    Default    STACK    Fog of war texture format: RGB24.

12:13:16:973    Default    STACK    [Game] Empire#0 loaded.

But instead we get:

10:24:00:928    Default    STACK    The game ancillary (type of: RelicsManager) has been loaded (in 0 second(s)).

10:24:01:548    Default    STACK    Galaxy Seed = 89990

10:24:01:548    Default    STACK    Fog of war texture format: RGB24.

10:24:02:190    Gameplay    STACK    An exception was raised when executing GameServerState_LaunchGame.

10:24:02:190    Gameplay    STACK    Argument is out of range. Parameter name: index

10:24:02:190    Gameplay    STACK    Releasing game

So maybe there was some indexation out of bounds and now the game is trying to load that and obviously failing.

Any guidance?
