Getting AI to Build Reductions

I have some moon anomalies that can be "reduced" to give FIDSI bonuses.

The problem, is that the AI refuses to build them.

I've implemented appropriate <SupervisorGain> lines, similar to terraforming and system improvements, but it doesn't seem to help.

It works for new system improvemwnts I've added, so I wonder if the AI ignores anomalies?

Also, how does <AIGain> differ from <SupervisorGain>? They appear on terraformations but not improvements, and the usage looks different as well.

I have the same problem. Anomalies don´t get explored. I too have tried putting SupervisorGain, to no effect.

I guess we have to hope for an answer by the developers.

By the way, does your Automated Supervisors do Terraform planets?

I know that Terrafomation has SupervisorGain (and anomalies don´t), but it doesn´t function for me anyway.

Do you have the same problem?

Thanks

Hmmm. I haven't looked to see if the AI is terraforming, only that the guidelines are there in the xml.

The guidelines aren't exactly correct, however. For example, if you have enough population, terraforming away from the extremes is usually a net gain for FIDSI, but that's not how the weights are set up.

But at lease it's a start.

Regarding AIGain, my guess is that AIGain is used by the AI Players.

SupervisorGain is used by your Automated planetary Supervisors/Governors.

This way we should be able to customize our SupervisorGain without messing with AI Players

That's what it seems to imply, but not everything has AIGain, so I guess even the AI uses SupervisorGain as well?

Anyway, I've tried adding <AIGain> to the anomaly reductions, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Hey folks,

I believe the AI currently doesn't really know what these are.

They'll just build them when there is nothing else to do first.

Thanks, MonAmiral.

Could you also please tell us if SupervisorGain is somehow also used by the AI to decide what to build, or if AI only uses AIGain to this purpose?

I am afraid that messing with SupervisorGain to customize the Automated Supervisor could also affect AI building decisions.

The AI doesn't use the SupervisorGains at all, it's safe to modify them :)

Thanks Again!

Hey there Cleon2,

I see you've been busy and writing me on the Balanced Automation Policy mod page. If you want to take over the mod or group up with me to work on it, I'd be delighted. I sent you a friend invite on Steam but since it might come a bit out of the blue, I'm also writing this message.

Cheers,

Hi, Kuma. I´d be delighted to give any contribution in perfectioning your Balanced Automation Policy MOD.

I must confess that I have never created a proper and Clean MOD for Endless Space yet, but have only been messing with the files to find solutions for my problems with the game. So I am not able, at the moment, to take over your MOD, and don´t want to, either.

I would very much prefer to give you all my experiments, suggestions and results to let you implement them (if you want) freely in your mod. And give any clarification needed.

Actually, I have put very much everything on this matter in another thread in this modding forum: "Automated Governors/Supervisors".

Feel free to use it. You have my consent. I must only post the correction, yet, for the MetaPrerequisite construct that the Developer MonAmiral explained to me in a post.

I have tried to give you credit for your MOD, but when I copied your name from Steam (i don´t know if they are japanese characters of some sort) it didn´t appear in the text. "Kuma" is a lot easier to spell ;-).

Alas, with the GREAT help of MonAmiral (thanks again) I have solved some great doubts:

  1.  He confirmed that we can alter freely the SupervisorGain without messing with the AI.
  2. Terraforming and Exploring Curiosities are off reach for Automated Supervisors. (no need to continue trying)
  3. He helped me correct my MetaPrerequisite construct to use multiple OR conditions for Planetary Improvements for example.

Anyway, every solution that we can reach is suboptimal, that means that while fixing some major problem, we create a minor one. For example we can avoid the fact that the Automated Supervisors get stuck with infinite constructions, but in exchange, they can never use it. I prefer this way anyway, but some people may not. It is important to clarify the limits.

Resuming, I´ll be very glad to help in any way possible. No credit needed. I´m such an humble gay... ;-)

As soon as I connect to Steam again, I´ll accept your invite.

Thanks

P.S. Tychonoir, it looks like I have almost hijacked your post. Sorry, that was not at all my intent, but thanks for the hospitality.
