Tooltip ordering of items

When I create a new improvment or such, the modifiers will automaticaly generate tooltips which is usually all well and good.


But what I can't figure out is how it decides to order them.

It isn't the same order as the modifiers in the descriptor, and sometimes the ordering is not very organized if you have more than a couple things to list.

In some circumstances, I can create a custom tooltip with a more organized layout (using a single tip to fake multiple items), but often this would also require supressing the default tips, which has the side-effect of supressing their effects on other tooltip areas, such as for its contribution towards system totals.


Is there a way to force modifiers to generate tooltips in a specific order?

Hey Tychonoir,


Modifiers are (most of the time) ordered by value: the highest value is above, and the lowest is below.

In some cases (for example, Faction/population traits), they are displayed in the same order as they are written.


To make a tooltip display unsorted values, you must find the corresponding GuiTooltipDescription in GuiTooltipDescriptions.xml, and replace its reference to "PanelFeatureEffects" with "PanelFeatureEffectsUnsorted".
