Home system modding (number of planets)

Hi, 


I bought the game a few days ago. Just starting but already got some mods. Currently I'm editing textures in one of these mods... 


Anyway, I'm not happy with the home system in ES2. I would like to have 5 planets in it. Do you know if and how can it be done? I searched through .xml files in galaxy creation settings but I couldn't find it. There is a HomeSystem section in WeightTableDefinitions.xml and I pasted appropriate lines there that set the count of planets but it doesn't work. Can you help me? 


Although it's probably impossible, actually I would like to have even more planets because I think it would be more realistic. I posted another thread about it.

Nope, not possible.

There are two ways of (potentially) doing this.

1. Mess with the weight table of home system generation.

You can't do this because this is manually overridden by the game during galaxy generation


2. Manually spawn a system using quests

You can't do this because if you replace the system, the population on that system are removed, the colonization of planets is removed, and the faction is eliminated because they have no systems.

I think that's quite funny. A game with emphasize on modding capabilities and you can't mod the home system. I'm sure many mods would be made if it was possible.
