The blade of Woe

One day, after a experience i had playing a match, after a Epic Battle i just fought, i said to all my friends the Tales of our Victories, and the Shame of my Defeats . And as the stories became simply so amazing, i decided to share some of them whit you and ask you to do the same, as we learn from the experiences of each other into the Battlefields of Space.

It all started into the lobby screen, when i decided to play as Vodianny against my enemy, Horatio. Once the battle started, the Arks where in place, and the systems where colonized... i rushed towards any starlane i could see in search of a minor faction .

I was warping trough the starlane, when i saw a trace of a minor faction.

Dammnit, i placed my scout and hero ship into the Starlane that had the minor faction, while my leecher fleet is scouting elswhere.

When i arrived a bit closer at the minor faction...

Guess who it is?

Of course.

Hissho!

a warring faction that fights back.

I looked at that hissho, right next to my system and i thought:

"Im going to dominate those hisshos. i will place a HUGE fleet upon them, and every time they spawn a fleet i will destroy those fleets while i Harvest their Essence."

I fought those hisshos, dominated the first wave, but soon more came.

It took 5 turns the first time, it was far faster than i expected. They where along whit pirates on Maximum Difficulty. The distance between me and the hissho was filled whit a Starlane in which i already planned to harvest its essence, waves of leechers incoming all towards the fleets of the hissho that will strike them to its death.

I looked at the scene, and i needed to find a new plan.

I know what i will do.

KEEP ON THE FIGHT!

FIGHT LIKE A HERO!!!

I created more fleets, researched the upgrade of minor attackers and shielders, and went on to War.

"If i can a place a fleet strong enough upon them, that is never defeated and can resist its onslaught, i can dominate the hissho and harvest their essence to Death"

I kept on the fight, but every time i defeated those darning minor factions more and more came. and worst, Sooner. Then after i defeated its second wave, its third wave, on turn 27 , was already a Cleaner.

I looked at it and i said: Omg, what now? i have only minor attackers and shielders. i need to do something. will i desert this fight?

NO. i will dominate this cleaner and he wont survive my might!

Then i created a a huge fleet filled whit defenders and attackers and rushed towards his face.

I arrived, i defeated him. i had more defense and a bit more of attack power, plus its countering weapons.

But once i let my leechers again to persue to the hissho system to leech their essence away...

All it took was a single click of a button, End Turn , for the hissho fleet to Arise from the Depths of Space.

the cleaner was back in a single turn.

Guess my face.

but looking it positively...

i've only lost two defender ships in battle.

"If i bring this same army there, and fill it whit defender ships into the hissho system , i might be able to dominate the hissho for sure!"

i then persued on whit my lust for Conquest , and built more and more ships to overwhelm the Hissho.

But as i tried to do so, i filled my queue whit leechers defenders scouts and buildings, and my home system became a huge mess of fleets. eventually i found myself whit over 9+ fleets to control upon because i had too many scout ships trying to do too many things at the same time.

then i maintained control of the fleets, and rushed towards the hissho. but everything went wrong, and i eventually deserted to fight him.

I ended up assimilating the hissho major faction in the end, and , by mistake, forcefully removing the minor faction. when i did this for 50 infleunce, i lost all bonus i had that the minor factions where giving me and i did NOT had the ability to use their system as a building ground. Only arks can build as vodianny... at least i kept the ships, in wich i sold in the end.

Then after exploring the galaxy a bit more, and buying the wormhole upgrade, i started to discover a bit more of my galaxy.

but i was low on essence, and i needed to find another source of it...

Then i thought: Why not harvesting essence from Horatio that is close by? then i started to fill myself whit military ships into a race against horatio.

But along the way, i have placed a ark into a system that was isolated, right next to a pirate base. When i was fighting horatio, and focused on the battle i had whit him... Fleets and fleets of pirates came into my ark just whit the countering weapons of my ark. and before i could see, i was engaged by a fleet whit short range weapons when i had long range weapons. Whit my ark lost, i just managed to thought, how pirates seeked me out if i was into another system that wasn't even connected to a starlane? Did they seek me? Did they chase me? i coulden't say... but there wasn't one fleet there. there was two fleets incoming to my ark! it was a huge problem.

Then i fought the horatio, built HUGE fleets to fight him, one stronger than the other, and i went countering his fleets and dominating the battlefield. Whit the fight against the hissho, my Hero, in wich retreated a bunch of time Victorious, accumulated a serious number of XP points that made him OP in all stages of the Wars.

Then whenever i won a battle, i spoke to horatio:

Never mess whit OP vodianny hero and the might of my fleet :P

Then i placed a ton of fleets into the map, and tried to maintain control of the area whilist my leechers came close to feast upon his life.

But then i coulden't keep control. Horatio at that time had the same score as me, and he managed to fend off my attacks and research defenses fast enough to counter me.

and then i had some problem keeping control of my fleets, until my fifth ark arised.

into the last ark i've just baked, it was filled whit defensive modules and a big, NASTY Mount-sized weapon slot, that would give me huge damage advantage.

Then i filled my fleets whit attacking modules, placed a whole bunch of OP missles in it, and designed the modules of my remaining ships to match perfectly whit the my attacking strategy, wich was the extra XP strategy, and as luckily it had as first and second role Long range > Mid range, i filled my ships whit modules according to those ranges to maximize my damage efficiency.

Luckily, my enemy, Horatio, was utilizing a combination of weapons that made him get 50% or 70% hit chances whit all ranges. he always would miss something in battle. I can use this to my advantage, i thought.

Then i fought many battles against him, and i won EVERYTHING. i thought my fleet was unstoppable whit that huge, nasty ark filled whit beams and missles, and then i decided to capture both of his systems localized into the middle of the map.

I captured the fleets, sended everything else i got towards him, and launched two fleet attacks whit 700 manpower to both of his systems. At first, everything was fine. i could easily beat him into those battles because i was winning in terms of man power into those systems, but suddenly his manpower doubled and he got reinforcements, creating a shamefull defeat on both attacks i made.

I was there capturing one of his systems whit my massive fleet, maintaining control of everything else and "Readying the field" to input my leechers to harvest its essence away...

When then,

Obviously,

came That fleet.

Yes. the one who ruins all your plans.

It fighted my ark whit its tiny medium attackers beholding my master fleet...

and i just looked at those fleets as a Soverign looks to a serf:

"Is this all you've got?"

i looked at the case... looked at those weapons... and i said to myself: This wont be a problem. i will hold this attack like a god and beat his face to the death.

I started the fight, and surprisingly...

I lost the ark.

at this time, it was my second ark.

When i looked at the battle result GRAVE DEFEAT I just said: WHAT?

i forgot to realize that he was utilizing a mist of kinectic weapons, both flaks and missles to counter attack my fleet. the flaks defeat my missles (main source of damage) while his missles , because my fleet had absolutely no flak like his, dealt a ton of damage into my fleet, totally turning the tides of the trade and... well, killing my ark.

I really wasn't expecting such vessel defeat a Master Fleet like mine... when i overlooked its range 50/40/50 i just said: How can i lose this? he will miss every attack upon me!

Lie he was countering me! :(

then i lost my ark,  and the tides of war totally turned against me.

Whitout my ark, i couldent place fleets strong enough to defeat his, and eventually he got fleets stronger than mine in terms of modules. every time i placed a fleet of maximum strenght whit my op hero in it, i felt forced to retreat, and i coulden't keep control of the scene.

I eventually managed to counter some of his fleets and maintain control of the battlefield, but he was far stronger than me. he had 2 times my research at that rate and twice my score. he colonized too many systems and devolped them like crazy.

then i realized that i was lacking manpower to fill in my fleets to i could raze his systems. i placed a lot of military penance at that rate but it delayed the process of making new ships for me.

after some time, i realized i forgot to build other essential stuff, like food production structures. i've completely forgotten it.

Over the course of time, when Horatio said he had about twice my research per turn... i just kept thinking and thinking, when he would use that research to buy a carrier ship and obliterate my army faster than i can defend against. I had to make a race to get 4th tier millitary upgrade or get a carrier ship very very fast, before he does.

Then i started my race to get more research points and get those upgrades first.

Eventually, after a very long time, i knew it was very close the time he will get a Carrier ship and kill all my units on board, and i had to find a way to win. FAST.

then i was looking into the map and i saw a wide border of green, indicating his empire, growing massively unlike any system i saw in game. that border was so big i actually never saw a bigger system in my life. I thought: Its his home system. If i capture it, i can win the match.

Then there was a nebula node very close to it, in wich i could use as a plataform to reach the system from afar. then i thought: if i place a probe here into the direction of his system i can make the path clear to capture his system, this means if i get a fleet filled whit manpower to get there i can...

Win the match.

A genius idea strike into my head: Sneakily getting close to that home system and, as he probabilly wont have any single military upgrade into those systems, i can easily raze it in under turn. ensuring my victory.

then i placed a lot of shielders into a single fleet, placed a scout ship into the middle way, and attracted my opponent fleets out of his systems, so when they are into the starlane ,i will get past his units and have a free path towards the nebula, right next to his system leading me close to victory.

At this rate he already created Carrier ships, each of them 3 times stronger in terms of health than my normal medium units, and it had about 2 times my super strongest fleet attack. neither my Ark could try to compete against the Carrier.

I then attracted his fleets to a system, taunted Horatio, and said

"Come after me! i have a huge fleet of leechers just waiting to leech your systems! :P"

then he actually came, i retreated and he followed me. then when he followed me into the starlane, i rushed my fleets into the starlane, and when i was about to get close to his next system to get close to the nebula...

He placed fleets to defend.

My whole plan, got screwed.

at that rate, he already got his carrier to attack my home system ark, and i got defeated because i lost my home system .

After all the battle, even when it was described my defeat as Woe and Shamefull, I do not agree whit it. I fighted like a hero, and killed those darning Hissho ships countless times, only retreating for tatical purpouses. Into my match against the Horatio, many times i fought whit fleets that where close to victory, as well to defeat. And my ability to create interesting and difficult fights was definitly not considered by this description. I fought like a hero, Holding the blade of Victory, and created my path towards it. Altrough i failed in achieving in it time, i am proud of the battle me and my friend fought. and this is why i believe, my battle was not Woe and Shamefull.

It was Gracefull and Glorious, like the Edge of hero who pierces the heart of the enemy victim BLEEDING TO ITS DEATH :D

And like a heart bleeding to its doom, when the enemy keeps making his maniacal laughs here and there:

"You lost this one baby >:3"

i believe my fight against horatio was definitly REALLY awesome! :D

And this was my very first completed match as vodianny that i completed into multiplayer instance.

Then i would like to ask: And you? what is your story? do you have any story you believe it is interesting to say, any tale of a fight you had whit another player or against the odds where everything pointed towards ultimilate shame... When you overcame the the battle, and made something common, generic... turn into an awesome tale of Sublimination?

After every tale told, i'd like to ask that you explain what you learned whit each story.

What I learned

Well, i discovered that the XP gained for my fleets is really essential, as vodianny, to keep up the lead compared to your enemies. I must always place a hero in a fleet filled whit a big potential, and try to get as much XP as i can. i can do this by beating pirates, or by defeating minor factions ships. Next time i play as vodianny i will attempt to attack other minor factions ships and, if i meet another warring faction nearby, i will try to create a method of permanently destroying it. Such as, placing its counter weapons, and placing at least 2 defender ships to draw in the fire. If i manage to fill the sector whit 2 defender ships and some attacker ships filled whit missles when there is a cleaner, i might be able to permanently dominate the cleaner, or get a lot of free XP for my hero, granting me the lead compared to other Empires.

Also it is always a good idea to take care when sending a ark into the enemy systems, if i stay too much time into the enemy system he might be able to develop a way to counter me. So, return after some time to retrofit your Ark  and surprise your opponent.

Also, i learned pirate fleets on endless mode CAN, actually, defeat your arks. i must always take care whit those pirate fleets and defeat them whenever i can, or send defensive units in

my endangered arks to block the pirates and make the ark survive.

I also learned i always need a plan for victory. Also, utilizing defender fleets and filling them whit manpower modules is a good idea to capture systems (the first time i ever used this tatic)

I think those are the lessons i learned whit that match.

He grew like A Weed.

One time i played against Unfallen, as Vaulters,in a 10 people match (2 players and 8 AI)  and once i started the game, i found a lucky start for being the very first planet i colonize a planet whit a rich titanium deposit inside (about 7.5 titanium per turn) on my very first turn.

"Great! i will have enough titanium to upgrade my systems and build as many attacker ships i want to overwhelm my foes and win. Easy victory! :)

But soon i'd realize that Fate had other plans for me.

I expanded my empire, here and there, sought for the best systems, and found about 4 minor civilizations nearby in total. I tried to get them, but whit no sucess, only one remained.

Suddenly after exploring my systems, i got a module of extra manpower (200) and some extra bonueses... and as i had a tehcnology to build defenders and attackers, i had just saw Sophons nearby (into the constellation above) whit his home system very very very close to mine and i said to myself:

"I bet this AI is not ready for a Surprise Rush i can do against him. If i stack a ton of defenders and launch them directly on his home system into a one way road trough space. i can get to his system, invade it, and take all his systems for myself. Perfect plan. I will then get the lead compared to other empires and win the game! "

Ha.

As soon as i launched my army against sophons, to "integrate" them in my empire, he defended his sytem like a warrior... but when i made my first mistake of not defeating him in a single turn and leaving him just a few soldiers to defend his system, he simply retreated like a coward and reduced my ownership rating by 50%. In its home system.

That means: i got -117 approval score into my recently conquested system because "ownership reasons" and all the population in sophonic community turned Mutinous against me. that means, they die every few turns.

After colonizing his home system, i retreated my fleets to  my systems to refill them whit troops and conquest the other systems. Rinse and Repeat. Surprisingly, the enemy AI was not ready for war as i was. i soon took all his most important systems whit a fleet of 3 small shielders.

But surprisingly... After i took my first home system, when i looked at the score...

There he was. Unfallen. Growing in score like a Weed.

And then i said: But how? i just conquered another home system in my collection! how can he be so close to me?

There he was. Unfallen. Growing in score like a Weed.

As at that rate i essentially turned into a warmonger, i traced a plan: i will conquest every good system nearby and expand myself to Infinity. He won`t resist the might of my many conquered system of good quality because he won't be able to grow like me.

I rinsed and repeated the process of dominating sophons, and once i finished whit him, i had two enemies nearby: Cravers and Lumeris. i decided to take over Lumeris because cravers where acting peacefully whit me (for some reason)

I dominated lumeris home system, took another system from him... and yet, still... whenever i look into the score...

There he was. Unfallen. Growing in score like a Weed.

At that rate i decided to find a secret method to increase MY score in a way he coulden't: i would increase my scientific research alot, because i knew that if i had too much research it would stack as score points to compete against unfallen. Perfect plan. and he woulden't be able to keep up to my research score because i am Vaulters, and i have specific system upgrades that will increase my research score in every system i has even further.

And because i was conquering systems of good quality, i had another advantage in play: Many of the systems i conquered at that rate where filled whit luxury and strategic deposists. i could use all these resources to fill my systems whit O.P buildings that would increase my score and soar it so, so high that he would never be able to get into my feet! MWHAHAHA!!!

If life worked like a plan... :/

Then i placed ton of structures into my systems they where filled whit extra dust and scientific research. i placed lots of buildings to raise science and industry, Dark matter insititute, and so on. Every once in a while i asked Unfallen, the only player in battle:

"How much score you has? I bet you can't compete whit me! i have 3000 and you?"

"2800 :)"

There he was. Unfallen. Growing in score like a Weed.

"Its ok... after a while i will get my F Reality institutes and raise even more research than you can withstand! "

"I will be waiting :)"

I builded my F reality institutes, i builded my Dark matter institute, and then i said to him:

"And now, how much research YOU has? i have 8k and you?"

"7K :)"

There he was. Unfallen. Growing in score like a Weed.

It was so hard to compete against unfallen...

Then after some time, i realized my dust income was depleting. i had -1200 dust per turn at a certain rate. Luckily i had a ton of luxuries and strategics i could sell for the massive inflation the galaxy had. Not a problem for me.

Then after conquering all lumeris most essential systems, i left lumeris for my next target: Unfallen. Next to lumeris and a bit far from my home.  I placed a fleet whit 6 small shielders, and launched a attack against unfallen AI. Surprisingly, unfallen by being a faction whit +4 food, it had plenty of manpower. Far, Far, FAR much more than i expected. it had about 700 units defending his system and 2.3k as reserves just waiting to kill anything they see in play.

my first attacked against unfallen AI din't worked well. i lost the war but soon i launched more and more defender fleets to him, each whit upgradaded units. But unfallen had already built a army of airships and soldiers in his system and managed to kill 20% of my units because of guardians before i even attempted to attack him...

that means, whenever i launched a attack on him,  i lost. and then whiteout being able to conquest more systems quickly, my greatest fear approchead.. Slowly and expanding like a Weed. Whenever i looked at the score...

There he was. Unfallen. Growing in score like a Pleague.

At that rate he nearly surprassed me, and i had to do something to keep my score up...

But what could i do?

At that rate i was nothing but a Warmonger. I needed to expand trough war, and if my next opponent , Unfallen, was so horribly strong like that i coulden't even TRY to conquer his systems...

What other move can i make to expand?

At that rate i got 3 major problems to solve.

Sophonic community was rebelling against me. it launched some few ships here and there that where very close to my systems threatening to overcome them. i had to get his ships and kill them before they do anything whit my systems.

Lumeris was also rebelling against me. it wanted to conquer back some lost systems and he wasted some of my turns into it. it seems like the few systems i managed to left over, the ones i thought "Useless" for me, where building ships in my back to conquer back what they just lost. Shifty strategy.

Pirates where harming my systems in Sophons constellation, and they just managed to win a war against sophons home system for some reason and i lost one of the greatest systems i had.

I needed to retake it.

And cravers finally decided to wage war against me, and was coming after me from above, in the sophons constellation.

Whit all those different factors in play, i had just a few plans in mind: Secure my systems and conquer back sophons home system.

but as i launched my argosy to retake back sophons home systems...

Guess who was there? Sophons of course. they colonized it BACK. Darn it!

Next time always remember: Clear and purge the pleague. Otherwise they will simply come back and give you EVEN more headache.

and now i had to send another fleet to conquer his systems but...

Cravers placed a very strong fleet in a nearby system.

but when i sended my fleets to counter cravers... filled whit weapons and armors that counters them... For some reason, i lost the battle. i still can't understand why.

and at that rate my enemy, Unfallen (human), placed a very strong fleet and was marching over the direction of my lumeris system.

I tried to defend against him, but i retreated back until i had more power to defeat him... and once i fought him in a actual battle where he conquered many of myt systems, i lost the battle whit the very last fleets i had. And worst, he even captured some of my ships via Boarding Pods.

At that rate i was doomed. I lost all my main fleets, unfallen had even more research than me , all my conquered systems where harmed by pirates and major factions alike, i had to counter unfallen but his fleets where so strong to do so... i just looked at my empire cumbrling and asked myself

The Ultimate Question:

What now?

There was nothing more i could do. Unfallen was already researching victory technologies, or even attempting to build Victory Wonders. whilist i where stick to warmonging but left to not target to defeat, cauz "Unfallen too op" and whiteout any extra target to grow whit both my enemies growing and growing in fleets and threatening to destroy every single system i just conquered... I had badly lost the battle. it was only a matter of time until unfallen utilizes its 12k research power to research endless technologies and win the game. Unless i target him whit my army, i will be doomed. But i had no army for that and he was far, far stronger than me. So, i got screwed.

After all that time playing the match, i coulden't help but think: How he got so strong like that so quick?  How managed to grow up like me even when i conquered other home systems? How his research eventually surprassed mine if i builded simply so many scientific structures and even colonized some cold planets? How he managed to defeat my fleets so bad if logically my weapons and armor where supposed to counter him???

So many questions. But eventually i found the answer:

Conclusion

He is invencible.

I suk :(

Never forget the basic

After my first most honorable defeat against the same enemy, i eventually faced the worst shameful defeat of my life.

Because, afterwards… Never forget the basic.

In the end you will know how your dumbness can lead to horrible failures.

What a single mistaken move can’t do…

Anyway, let me tell the tale.

It all started whit the choice of races: Vodianny (me) VS Horatio (My killer)

When I started the game, I found I had a really, really good start. Because as I started to expand my empire, I saw a significant number of systems whit 4-5 planets nearby in my constellations. And also a minor faction I could leech nearby for some essence so… I got lucky.

But because there was a pirate system right next to it, I needed to land some ships in there in order to ensure my leechers won`t get hurt during the process, So I had to build some attacker ships to deal whit the increasing scourge of pirates.

I then researched some few technologies here and there, ensured my leechers did their work…

When then I find in the middle of the galaxy, Horatio.

He was trying to contest over academy, so after meeting him I needed to form a plan.

My first plan was: Build a fleet strong enough to conquer him ,upgrade it to the brim, intercept his fleets, invade his systems and win.  Complex but effective.

I also looked after some time and said: Hmmmm… I could build some leecher ships and leech over his systems?

But eventually the fact I had to protect my leechers and intercept his fleets became a huge headache for me, because I found myself whit too many things to do in too few time.

But as I faced horatio, after building a fleet whit enough strength to destroy his fleets, I kept a good amount of turns “wandering” across the galaxy to destroy his fleets instead of spending time to conquer his systems, in order to protect my arks that where spreaded across the whole galaxy and, meanwhile, invade his systems.

It appears that my enemy tatic was one of the smartest to play against vodianny: Divide and Conquer. He placed many, many spreaded fleets across the galaxy and kept moving here and there keeping my mind dazed to catch those fleets sending one upwards and another downwards… that way I couldn’t intercept his fleets enough, and i was always busy whit something to do. He also seemingly upgraded his systems so I lost my first invasion attempt on him twice. That way I had to go back, reload the manpower… defend my ark below, then defend my ark upwards… a huge headache.

I lost some ships at first in some battles, but eventually I managed to find the perfect combination for my vodianny hero: Soon, after a significant amount of time, my fleet whit vodianny hero became unstoppable. Not even a carrier could destroy it. All I needed to do was to get close enough to initiate a fight and Voala, I will easily win the battle due to superior military techs, and stronger fleets.

And soon whit stronger fleets I started to gain a huge advantage on game play: There was nothing in the whole game that could compete against my fleet. I started to feel as he lost the battle, as it was just a matter of time before he perished upon my fleets.

But suddenly my enemy made a very good move:

He researched carriers, and started to threaten my arks.

That way I had to defend against his carriers, as a single unit of those was enough to overwhelm one of my arks.

And then the true hunt started: CATCH THOSE CARRIERS. i said to myself.

But as I started my hunt, after a long time roaming here and there to catch his carriers, I eventually ended on the bottom of the galaxy and I just said to myself:

Wait, why I don’t kill that system while his carrier doesn’t appear?

He can’t really do anything terrible whit his Carrier anyway...

My first huge mistake.

Then I placed my fleet to go in the direction of one of his systems…

But in the exact moment I cross the star lane, in the opposite direction his carrier appears in the middle of the galaxy whit a wormhole that led almost straight to my home system.

Just for you understand: at that rate I already researched wormholes , and that specific system had two wormholes connected: one, to the downwards right, and another straight to a nebula below which is next to my home system.

I looked at that scene… and said:

What is he going to do?

I better catch him…

But once I tried to move closer to the carrier, whit my fleet of 16 movement speed due to celestial mechanics skill of vodianny hero, I noticed I needed more speed to cross the star lane that led to the carrier, because I just mistaken a small movement here and…

End turn.

He crosses the wormhole.

He is in the nebula.

I forgot to place fleets to defend my home system.

Im doomed.

In a act of desperation, I ask my enemy:

You don’t have colonizer ships to win the game, don’t you? Please say yes!

“Of course not :)”

Of course he has…

It was only a matter of time until he attacked my ark, I retreated to save its life… and he sent a colonizer ship to finish the game.

Then I taught whit this match the most obvious lesson almost everyone already know:

Never forget the basic.

Always place a fleet to defend your home system when you are in advantage against your enemy…

Conclusion

I told you he is invincible :<

Never Surrender

After 3 shamefull defeats in a row against the same enemy, who seemingly played as a Astral Being of some sort, dealing whit all tatics i landed on his face in order to defeat him...

I finally found a way to defeat him for at least once.

All this saga starts whit the choice of the races: Sophons X Vaulters.

The game started and i begun expanding my empire to all reaches, in a tiny 1x1 galaxy whit only a few systems.

I start building colonizer ships pretty early, and start researching technologies to colonize some planets.

After some time i find Argosy, and in a attempt to counter attack argosy, I planned my secret Ultimate Strategy

“I Will fill the battlefield whit colonizer ships, and take over all most usefull and essential systems he could have, making Argosy hopeless like a Hobo begging for its life as I crush its life whit my massive, DOMINATING fleet.”

i sended all those colonizers in the middle constellation of the galaxy, some of them venturing in unkown territory while others colonized some huge and decent systems elsewhere.

After sending my fleets in, I coulden’t help but think:

Ha. My plan is on the go. There is nothing he can do and soon I will overwhelm his argosy and win the game. Easy win.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be that fast…

As the enemy researched, by a matter of Destiny , The perfect counter technology and plan in order to defeat my colonizers:

He researched small ships pretty soon early game, and filled the battlefield whit tiny, small ships…

To rush his way to victory.

I never faced a true rush before.

I don’t have practice whit rushes…

I need to do something very quick and fast, otherwise l will be dominated first.

And to make it worst, he assimilated some minor factions and took their ships for his aid, and two of the very important colonizers I set to venture in unknown territory where blockaded and destroyed by tiny, small shuttles.

I needed a plan to counter attack his rush, and fast… Will I rush back against him or utilize my science to get tier 2 ship to defeat him?

I thought a moment more and said: If I build enough tier two ships and resist his attacks… there will be nothing his fleets can do against mine. Besides, I’m sophons anyway... i can easily outwhelm him whit my science, and research those ships quick enough to defeat his army.

Turtle x Rush. >:)

My plan worked. Because his ships where low on manpower, he couldn’t really take over my systems, and eventually his rush plan failed. After researching medium ships, and putted all those vermins on the run, I maintained control of the battlefield, and continued my plan towards expansion.

I then started to build colonizer ships in my homeworld, and rushed trough the galaxy for the best spots to colonize. At that rate I already knew almost the whole map.

For some reason the enemy vaulters made bad choices whit his Argosy, and I eventually maintained control of the best systems in the galaxy, including a hidden node a bit close to his homeworld.

But then I realized my empire had a huge problem: Dust income. I was filled whit that systems at that rate, but many of my systems had few population because I recently colonized them and some of them where on siege… Plus I had 2 fleets whit some medium ships, giving me -100 dust income in total. At some rate I found that, if I did nothing in about 5 turns, my empire would end up bankrupt and my fleets will be sold.

Then I researched a Dust Income agencies (25% industry to dust) and made most of my systems to produce dust instead of normal buildings. But even so, my dust income was very, very low.

There came upon a point of the game that vaulters ship, instead of colonizing good homeworlds... it instead colonized a system right next to my home system. It was a uber crap system, but I could sense he did that for strategical purpouses.

I eventually tried to land manpower on his systems, but even as siphons, my fleets where too slow to reach that system, as there where pirates along the way, and other difficulties. And before I could reach that system, right after I got there… I met myself whit my greatest fear:

Carriers.

I was forced to retreat, as my enemy then moves his carriers directly on my home system. At that rate all I can think is GGWP im done. But once he reach my home system, I realize his greatest weakness:

Manpower.

His carriers where tremendously weak in manpower, and although I couldn’t beat his carriers… I could let them there whiteout manpower just sieging my home system while I plan my way to victory whit my medium ships.

I tried to use my second fleet to counter attack those carriers and destroy them, but in order to do that, I needed to upgrade them, or build more medium ships by researching the CP technology. When I saw his carriers, I had to make a choice: Or I rush trough upgradable ships, or I rush trough even more ships to per fleet. I decided to upgrade my ships and beat those carriers…

But in the exact moment I researched upgradable ships… he already researched the last military upgrade: The Air ship and CP point one. Then he merged his carrier fleets and, whit only 10 cp point against 12… there was nothing else I could do.

then, when I gazed upon my empire situation…whit my home system being sieged, my main source of dust… and all my goody systems producing dust dust and dust… And even so, my dust income at that rate was… -80. I had 400 dust in stock. In 5 turns I’d be dead. What else can I do???

Whiteout ships I will lose. I can’t build more ships, or I will die. Comeon, I lost this!!!

I was hopeless at that rate… Until a message, like some sort of “Heaven’s Call” had answered my plea:

            “Sell Sell Sell Sell... :)”

I then realized in that moment, i had a plan! (no, he had) but taking his plan up to me… I found out something I could do that could totally change the Tides of War.

Wait… I have very low dust income, but I have two fleets. One fleet is trying to protect my home system from those carriers, while another is in a closer position to my enemy home world.

And if  I sell my fleet who is trying to protect my home world (I can’t really do that, to be honest, his carriers are too strong and they can’t even attack my systems whit that much manpower, so I don’t need to worry about them) and I use my attacking fleet to Besiege his home system?

I got my first huge idea in plan. But at that rate I had a secret: As I was trying to protect my homeworld, I

I got my first huge idea in plan. But at that rate I had a secret: While I fill my fleets whit manpower and place them on the perfect place so they can refill their troops and persue on the siege… I will research the upgrade that gives Airships to defeat the enemy Tanks in his home system… and make a easy win whit my sieging capabilities.

Then I placed some manpower modules on my fleets, placed some defenders on it… And rushed towards his home system.

But there was a problem: he kinda noticed I was going after his homeworld… and he placed his Last Resort.

A carrier on his homeworld!

Versus three medium upgradaded ships in which I precisely retrofitted based on his previous Carrier design to totally counter his fleets. Mwahahahahahahaahah!

And as he din’t changed his Carrier load out... my weapons totally countered him.

I then took my maximum missle fleet, and crushed his carrier in 3 waves of rockets as I saw in the replay custcene. It was so amazing to see that carrier turning into molten debris as I raze his system and WIN THE GAME as I finally show im a trustworthy space captain that Deserves to win the greatest foe At least for once in life.
