How does damage apply?
Example:
-Ship A has all beam weapons and deals 100 damage.
-Ship B has a 50/50 shield/hull modules and has 1000 hp with X% projectile and y% energy damage reduction.
-They fight on middle range.
Does that 100 damage first damage shield? Is it first reduced by shield and when hitting plate reduced by it?
Can anyone explain how damage is applied, would be really grateful.

UnblockCancelBeam Weapon has 10% penetration on shield & 90% penetration on plate.
Energy-type absorption ratio = 50% (given by condition)
Projectile-type absorption ratio = 50% (given by condition)
i) While the shield is active
(Damage Absorbed by Shield) = 100 x (50%) x (100%-10%) = 45
(Damage Reduction by Plate) = (100-45) x (50%) x (100%-90%) = 2.75
(Damage on Hull) = 100 - 45 - 2.75 = 52.25
i) After the shield capacity is depleted
(Damage Absorbed by Shield) = 0
(Damage Reduction by Plate) = (100-0) x (50%) x (100%-90%) = 5
(Damage on Hull) = 100 - 5 = 95
