When (and how) should i start building fleet to be most efficient? 6 years ago

Pretty much title. I always seems to struggle with early fleet, something that happened with me in othr 4x games (Civilization), but not in ES1. It always looks like there is too much improvements to build, and ship cost always just a little bit higher then i'd liked it to be. So, what is the best strategy?

As far as I could say, the AI should auto-build every kind of system development. But with my tests, I failed to make those AI-marked system work at all. And with Unfallen, and so many systems, the last game was a little painful, to manually set up every new system (and vineships are pretty fast at taking systems in endgame).

But, since we are here, we could go a little deeper.

- How does AI works with strategic-costing system improvements? Does it just build everything, thus making you spending resources you could have just little numbers of?

- How does AI works with dust and science infinite system production (25 and 50% industry usage)

- Will ever AI try to build Wonders?

- Will ever AI try to build ships?

- Why I cannot properly set up AI on my systems?
