New major faction

I've been thinking about a race or a major faction... They use a virus not sure what to call it.. Maybe an outside view they call it a virus. 

* The virus rewrite the RNA/DNA of other species to their own, therefore your population will increase

* Holdings were you begin the process to make sure the new population will follow your faction

* A faction which will consume the Galaxy if someone will not stop them

I could see these as traits of a new Faction.
