When editing a ship design to create a new version, allow the design to be renamed.

Sometimes the ship's function changes as part of an upgrade, and it's inconvenient to continue referring to it by an old name that is no longer descriptive.

Absolutely. I wish we could straight out retrofit a ship to other designs with the same hull type, but this could be a simpler improvement for the devs to implement. One should at least be able to rename a ship design if its role in one's fleets changes after editing the design.

Ohh yes please, so many times did I have to create a new design just to change the name... I don't have any clue of how the game's code works, but I can't really understand why this had not been implemented since the beginning!
