As Auriga is the focal point of Endless Legend and Dungeon of the Endless, It would be nice to have more 'echoes' of her in Endless Space 2. I was thinking of possible correlation between the galactic factions and the ancient factions that once roamed Auriga. Here is which two factions correlate and why:

  • Unfallen/Wild Walkers: Forest culture
  • Riftborn/Broken Lords: "We were different once..."
  • Vaulters/Allayi: calls themselves 'Aurigans.'
  • Cravers/Necrophages: Military/loner playstyle
  • Sophons/Ardent Mages: Scientific strengths
  • Lumeris/Roving Clans: Merchant playstyle
  • United Empire/Drakken: Influence points
  • Vodyani/Cultists: Cult-like beliefs
  • Umbral Choir/Forgotten: Espionage masters
  • Horatio/Mykara: Uniform-looking citizens
  • Hissho/Kapaku: Military outlook
  • Nakalim/Morgawr: Awakened

I was hoping for at least a little remix of the EL faction theme with a theme of the more recent ES2. If possible, there could be a new galactic event that results in each faction getting a corresponding ancient hero. Would it be too ambitious to have an event that unlocks an ancient minor faction hero too? I am just hoping for more recognition towards Auriga, as even her description indicates that she was important to the Endless. If you think that there is a better ES2/EL pair, comment below.
