It would be really useful to have in-game encyclopedia which can be easily accessed from GUI.
It should list all you need to know about the game and its content in one centralized place. (like Civilopedia).

It can be organized into categories such as technologies, population, ship hulls for all major factions, list of possible laws etc.

For example - I started as Sophon with scientific party in Senate. But it looks like Militarists are growing in popularity. I need a decision - should I just observe as things change, or should I invest resources to support one or another party?
Sure, I can alt-tab and google various discussion about that. Sure, player expirience will be the main factor in taking such decisions.
But! If player had the opportunity to investigate the topic directly in-game (or just double-check some info) - it would be better for user experience.

P.S. sorry for my English

we'll work on some form of in game wiki link, but we don't know yet how complex it will be (a simple link to the website? ingame wiki page? wiki updated with real game data?)

It seems lots of people share this idea in the forums.

Also it appeared in a devs roadmap, but as low priority feature.

Lots more reasons to implement it (tired of noting all values in a paper sheet).

You got my vote.

The Civilopedia in the Civ games is one of the main reasons why it is so dominant in the 4X genre. Everything explained with links between concepts. Its a pain to keep updated and relevant, but it can be a main selling point, especially with a game that has so many new and novel concepts for the genre.

I think that providing all cross-topic links as well as links directly from game-elements can take a lot of additional time to implement.
Sure, this can help a lot - but it can be done as 'second part' of encyclopedia-project.

For the first part, some ingame wiki will be more than sufficient.
