When selecting populations on a planet in the Star System Management View display what the selected populations effect would be on the output for each planet.

This could be done by toggling the total planet output that is shown above each planet to show a selected populations effect on the planet instead.

This would be very helpful when deciding where to put population.

To illustrate see the picture of the current Star System Management View below.

We now select 2 Hissho population. And the output display above each planet is toggled to display what the output effect of the 2 Hissho population would be on each planet:

Awesome idea! The status of this idea has been changed to GREENLIGHTED as it we hope to implement it soon in our game.

I miss a feature like this!

Something similar had been implemented in ES1, though they just displayed the stats by hovering the pops above a planet after they would've been added to that planet. Your idea with displaying the change by moving the pop seems much better.

You would not even need to move them (grab the population), I imagine it could toggle as soon as you highlight the popuation on a planet. But obviously that is for the developers to say ;)

Hmm, that's a possible solution, too. Though I'd still go for displaying after grabbing them. :)

Glad to see this greenlighted.

Good post with good and clear example, also quick to read.

Just some questions if the're going to implement it:

- The displyed values in your second example, are counting the planet FIDSI production shich will affect any pop moved there, or just the ones coming from the specific faction?

- And from the previous one: what do you think will be better: show how the overall production will be affected, or only the bonuses from the faction pop? (to be clear for me is best the overall, but not sure if everyone will be comfortable with this)

- If the overall production is showed, do you think will be good to have some indicator (like different colour or bold numbers) to show what is affected by this pop bonus? (I think yes, but understand it can put too much info to be digerible)

The idea is to show what the total per turn contribution of the selected population would be on the different planets in the system. So it would show the total contribution which would then include the factions bonuses. And yes i think it is better to show the total contribution of the selected pop including faction bonuses rather than showing only the contribution stemming from the faction bonuses.

I think some kind of indicator for what contributions are boosted by a faction bonus could be nice. All depends on how it looks I guess. If they do this they could also highlight the planet attribute associated with the faction bonus. Meaning if the faction gives dust bonus on dry planets then both the dust contribution and the dry attribute is highlighted.

At the moment I am just happy they are implementing this in some form though ;)

Also note I write contribution instead of FIDSI because I would like them to show stuff like manpower and happiness bonuses from the selected pop as well, if there is enough room in the interface that is.
