Ground buildings helping during space battles

It could be a good idea to implement some buildings that would be built on the system and would attack with missiles or lasers the ennemy fleet during a space battle or defend ships making their shields stonger for instance.

It would thereby give an advantage to the defensive fleet, which sounds logical to me.

Edit : It could be for example a screen with several places for modules that would have to be unlocked by buildings and modules which would have to be researched to be used.

I'll upvote this Idea but I don't expect it to succed. Otherwise the "Space Station" Idea would be now a "Nice to Have" Idea.

It's quite similar, you're right ! I don't know exactly why the dev team dislikes the idea of the space station but there are a few advantages with this idea (opposite to the space station) though. It wouldn't add any structure that could make space battles heavier nor would it need further modelisation.

It would indeed be nice to have a defence grid around a developed planet, but for every meassure there also needs to be a counter, thus we would have to introduce artillery ships and cannons. ;)

Wow that would be fantastic ^^. I thought about something not that powerful, yet it could be and then as you say you would have to introduce a counter, that seems fair to me :)
