F1 screen population current/maxiumum indicator

Yes, it can be useful to know where to build unique constructions (for food, science, dust...) when several can be good choices.

This may be a noob question, but is the only place where the current/max population of a system is explicitly stated with both numbers on the population gained notification?

I know that if you switch to system scan, it shows a percent of maximum population, but not the current/max.  As stated by Shadenium, the empire summary screen only shows current system populations.  When I switch to the system management screen, it only shows the current population total and when you mouseover, it only shows the population growth figures.  I've always been doing it the hard way by mousing over each planet and adding the maximum population numbers together in my head.  Am I an idiot?  Is the maximum population number easily readable somewhere else?
