planet invasion force

Reaching back to old but fun games, starwars empire at war. you could win the space battle for the planet then send an invasion force to the planet and if you win the ground map, the planet is yours. This would be a huge undertaking and wont see somthing like this till endless space 5-6. 

Never the less the idea of planetary and ground conquest sounds like it would be amazing thing to add to the gameplay.
