Ship “System Harvesting” Modules

Allow Small and Medium Support Ship Hulls to build Unique Modules allowing them to “dock” (like the Vodyani) in an uninhabited systems and gain Science, Dust, Luxuries and Strategic extraction based on the system. This gain would be based on the total FIDS (more cold planets? Higher science output) in the system, but much smaller than inhabiting the system.


Types of Modules:

Science Module

Dust Module

Luxuries Module

Strategic Module


Example:

Science Module = 0.01% of all science population slots on an uninhabited system.


Modules research unlocks in the research panels for each type of module. Modules stack to specialize in a specific “extraction”.


This would allow you to “mine” other uninhabited systems for specific luxuries or strategic resources that you might need. It is also another way to utilize ships in other ways than combat.


Edit: It would be awesome if these modules went in weapon slots and the weapon turrets were replaced with satellite dishes, cranes, etc. for a non-military look. Plus, it would make them "civilian ships".

I think this is actually An awesome idea. Specificly because this makes civilian craft super important. And the voidyani can just use their all shall (insert fids) here to improve the arks.
