Playing ES2 from your couch on a large TV screen in 5.1 is an awesome experience, I'm currently using the Steam app and a Xbox One controller with the following configuration:

Left stick = WASD (scrolls the map in all directions)
Hold down = SHIFT

Right stick = moves the mouse cursor (you have to lower the default sensitivity a lot in Steam)
Hold down = CTRL

Left trigger = right mouse button
Right trigger = left mouse button

Left bumper = mouse wheel down (zooms out or scrolls lists down)
Right bumper = mouse wheel up (zooms in or scrolls lists up)

AXYB = F1 F2 F3 F4 (direct access to screens)
D-pad = F5 F6 F7 F8

Left view button = ALT
Right menu button = ESC

I have played more than 400 hours using this configuration, so I can tell you it works!

So, to simplify the setup for this awesome experience, could you add Xbox controller support in the game?

Thanks!

Thats cool. I have a steam streaming box to and was thinking of getting a wireless mouse and keyboard.

Does the right stick slow you down much?

You can configure the stick to be faster than the mouse, but the main issue is the precision, if you do not slow it down you will fly over and miss every icon.

So yes, I find using a controller is slower than using a mouse, however that's the price to pay to play from your couch and enjoy the game in a more laid-back way.

After trying this for a few hours and getting used to it, I have been totally addicted and can't play ES2 in front of my PC anymore (going from a large TV screen and great 5.1 sound to a PC monitor and stereo sound feels like going from 3D to 2D)!

If you get a wireless mouse and keyboard, I would be interested in reading your feedback, but I can't really see how you could use a wireless mouse and keyboard from a couch.

I guess you'll need a low table, but this defeats the purpose of the "laid-back setup" and may not be good for your back...

Sorry for this but in my original post my goal was to suggest them to add controller support to the game, not to talk about my setup! [ironic mode too, thanks for the kind comment!] :-)
