Allow a single player terminal to play more than one faction against itself (without having to use the debug console to deactivate one AI). This would allow one to play with two or more players in the same room to alternate turns at the terminal...hot seat multiplayer. This could be fun and promote a new type of interactivity (Endless Space 2 as a living room party game!).

This is commonly known as "hot seat multiplayer." I even recommend you renaming the thread (if possible) to "add hot seat multiplayer" instead of the current title.

IIRC Didn't Civilization have a Hot Seat mode along with a few other older 4x and 4x lite turn based games?

I think this would be a rather interesting concept

Of course an additional idea to add in would be a PBEM (Play by email) method, pretty much multiplayer but you email,dropbox,internal server etc your finished turn to the next player who takes their turn and then play passes to the next.
