So you mean to say that having ship designs of heroes be more based off of the race they come from would be more immersive? That would be a great thing and perhaps having more personalized ships that set them apart from the other racial ships.

Yeah the lack of diversity among heroe's ships has been somehting that has striked me from my beginnings on ES2.

That would be pretty cool to have raced-base ships instead of (or along with) roles based one.

Let us assign a flagship to Heroes

"As the heroes are emissaries of the Academy rather than the empires who employ them, they are bound to use their own aesthetic."

The developers also addressed it here several years ago.
