A simple new order/stance for ships.

While in intercept stance the ships will engage any enemy fleet entering the system automatically

this should be able to be used by arks also (since they can't guard while anchored)  and should help provide better threat management in your systems

The Guard order stops enemy movement as they enter the system, allowing you to attack them. The attack is not automatic, however, to avoid accidentally attacking an empire with whom you are trying to get on good terms.

I'd like to see this as well.  The current blockade option doesn't quite cut it, because it means I have to constantly check the entire map or risk someone I don't want getting deep into my systems simply because I didn't see him when he was being held for the one turn at the blockade.  I would very much like to see an interception option for fleets within a system.

Do you envisage it as a kind of patrol command (to compare it with land-based games)? You set a fleet a path between systems to patrol and it will automatically encounter any hostile (what about unknown?) fleets?

a patrol feature wouldn't work in a turn based game, the window of action/chances of having your ship and the enemy ship stop in the same system at the same time is very low

I propose to modify the idea: you can choose to intercept any fleet or only fleets with less power than yours.

Or rather like this: If there is an enemy fleet approaching, you get a popup where you can decide to intercept them or leave them be.

I also think this would be the preferred method.

Nice to have

The NICE TO HAVE status is given by the dev team to ideas they would like to have in the game.

Greenlit

The GREENLIT status is given by the dev team to ideas they will really likely implement in the near future. Almost there!

Awesome idea! The status of this idea has been changed to GREENLIT as it we hope to implement it soon in our game.
We are looking into it.
