Major Factions

I have to Edit this Idea since it wouldn't work at the beginning because the Chance is to low that Amplitude would create a whole new Cravers Faction, in a sense, just to make them different.

Also thanks to ValhallaAshes making it clear.

But I don't want to remove the Idea so quickly and now change it. The Updated Idea is now for the normal Craver Faction.

I mean a Quest. A Quest specificly made for the Cravers, giving  the Player the possibility, to change the Cravers from a Man eating, Slave Hunting, Planet Devouring Monster Faction to a more "Advanced" and "Civilized" Faction: Cravers Prime

Able to use Diplomecy, use Trade lines, and get new Tratis and affinitys like an Industrial Bonus or Food production Bonus. On the other Side the Cravers will loose their Trait "Slave Drivers" and the "Devouring" Affinity resulting that they can't use their FIDSI Bonus anymore.

The Quest should be build in the current Lore Quest.

At a certain Point in the current Lore Quest the Cravers faction is able submit to the Virtual Endless or Rebel and fight them. The "Cravers Prime Lore Quest" could begin when you choose to rebel. Here's a small example.

"The Cravers Queen began to wonder if they could use the Endless Technology to alter their Bodys. To break free of the Chains the Endless gave them when they are created. To finally choose their own destiny in that Galaxy!

The Queen began to discuss this idea with many Bishops. But the idea of being free met a lot of disagreement. Many Bishops believe that they are already free. Fighting and Eating and Devouring the Galaxy. But others know that their Race is doomed if they continue that way. Either way the other Factions are going to annihilate them or, after 10000 years, they starve to death, since the Planets have been destroyed in the process of overexploitation."

Now the Player could decide to either learn and use the Endless technology and begin to alter their bodys (Changing the Cravers Traits and Affinitys) or simply continue as they are now and end that Quest.

If the Player choose the first option the Quest continues. Now the Player has to scan 3 Curiosities on the Endless Planet. To find the technology they need. Afterwards the Player has to actually research the Technology which could take 10 to 20 turns (considering how much science points the Player makes per turn). After that the Cravers Faction becomes the "Cravers Prime" Faction and get new Traits and new Affinitys. While loosing the old ones.

So that is my new idea so far. What do you think? Tell me. It will help.

I don't see how you could do that without creating a new species altogether.  Or possibly as sub-species such as a minor race.  Or maybe make it a researchable tech.  Such as late era species evolution rather than an altogether different faction.

Yes. That's probably a better approach. As I stated before it's not that importend but I thought it could be funny to have some other Cravers :D

Also a researchable tech....Or maybe a Quest? A Quest that gives the needed technology to change the Cravers Affinity. That seems to be a better option than a new race. Or as a Sub Race when you Edit the Cravers? hmmmm.....

It's cool man.  I wasn't trying to force you to change it.  I was just giving my honest thoughts because you asked me to have a look at it.  But ultimately, it's your idea, go in whichever direction you think best.  I already upvoted this idea the other day as well.  As for your new edit, I've had a read over it, and I really like it.  I think it will add a very nice dynamic to the cravers from a gameplay aspect.  I've played a couple other games with similar aspects where an important choice has a considerable impact on gameplay and I always thoroughly enjoyed those types of choices.  So I'm all for this idea.  Good luck.

Thank you very much but I still am thinking if it weren't a better idea to simply make them...a sub faction. It would maybe help in the long run. Some People may simply want to play as Cravers without that Devouring effect.

So Cravers Prime maybe as an Editable Faction or Sub Faction could also be a go.

Hmm That is a real troublemaker Idea for myself.....being able to change the Cravers via a Quest probably feels really good. But....hmmm I still want them to be their own Faction as well....on the other side...Being able to change somewhere midgame helps the Lore of the Game. Making it very dynamic.....well I'll let it how it is ATM and see what happens.
