Ground battle scenery

I noticed all ground battles take place on a reddish mars like setting. I was just thinking it would be interestingto have different settings that correlate with the planet type. Like an atoll planet could have islands or a lava planet could be running with magma. On a second note it would be cool to have pros and cons to invading certain planet types.
