Ability to change the texture of the ship

I agree, however I think something like this may be implemented later when they put in custom factions and whatnot. This would be really cool though, maybe a couple choices of texture or color combinations when u start the campaign, just to make your faction a little more unique, especially if you have several of the same faction in one campaign.  

I like the idea to have simple ways to custom armies. I remember on Dawn of war two i spend so much time to design my cannon fodders before send all of them in a terrible but glorious death !

I also think that it would be possible to give ships 
with finished parts.
 This would make it possible to have more
 personalization and there would be more ships in the game.
