I have to confess, I fell in love with this game. So if this sounds crazy, it’s because of that.

What if I would say that you could find derelict Endless ships in space? You could actually search for and find Endless technology. A warp drive, a weapon, shield generator and so on (some unique stuff maybe).
There could be two kinds of modules. One of them would be on par with the strongest available module, but you wouldn’t need strategy resource, only lots of industry and/or dust. The other one would be much stronger, but would require a substantial amount of strategy resource.

There was a war, and space would be full of Endless ship hulls, destroyed Star Bases (by the way, why are there no Star Bases?) and maybe a few intact ships.
Both Endless factions used different viruses against the other, there should be a few intact ships around.

There could be two types of Endless ships (2 Virtual and 2 regular Endless) with different stats and abilities.
From these four ships we could get two randomly for each game.
The map to the first ship would be given to the players through exploration (Curiosity Expedition Power of 3 or 4). The player who find the map would track down this ship in a quest. If somebody finds a ship, he or she must learn how to control it. There would be a science reduction quest, coupled with a substantial dust requirement per turn. If the player has allies, he could ask for help through diplomacy.
The ship would take up 12 command points (minimum), but could defeat 3 or more Carrier class ships.
Once the ship is online, the player must put a lvl 20 hero onto it (like on a planet). The ship doesn't work without a hero.
The ship will consume a high amount of enegry because the Endless tech, and so it will have a few thousand dust upkeep.
If the fleet containing THE ship is in the enemy’s view, an indicator would show it to him - there is the real sh*t.
About the ship – make it totally METAL. In appearance, name (cannot be renamed!) design, dimensions and abilities. Let them know who the enemy is dealing with.
Oh and btw give a great backstory for each ship... you are so good at this, pls do it for all the ships.

Once the ship is in the game, other players who don’t have such a ship would get a quest to find the other one (If you are in an alliance that have the ship, you will not get this quest). Finding this ship would be like finding the first one (but a bit easier).
If one of these ships would be destroyed, their husk could be reconstructed for any player, for a ridiculous amount of dust taking multiple turns (almost like a Vodyani Ark), and the owners have to protect the ship.

There could be a new win condition (Peace through power) where if a player or alliance takes control of both ships, they win the game. Plus an achievment for that victory called Dejavu.

As the Endless ships, modules, and the associated win con can be game breaking, there could be an option at the beginning of the game to turn these conditions on or off. For example only the ships are turned on, the modules and win condition are turned off.
Now back to playing….

There be treasure!!!

Seriously, we all want to be space pirates. This would be an excellent reason to set fleets into "privateer" mode, shamelessly throwing accountability out. Its a cutthroat buisness; hunting these treasure derelicts could shake entire alliances (whom we all betray eventually...)

Besides ships, they could offer a random technology or map to a BIGGER prize; a tomb-raiding we will go, wake up Endless mumies. Maybe one would like to be our friend... What are additional unique traits people would like to see with these ships?

Give derelicts that golden glow from EL ruins. More Endless pals too (in stasis?)
