There a few UI elements that hang over your colonized systems in the Galaxy View. The three I want to address are the System Name, Population Counter and current Production Image.
1 – System Name 2 – Population Counter 3 – Production Image |
1. SYSTEM NAME (no changes needed):
- When you mouse over the name of one of your colonized systems you get an info-card popup with a good amount of data on the system.
- When clicking the name of one of your colonized systems it brings you into the System View. (Clicking on the system itself when the magnifying glass appears does the same).
2. POPULATION COUNTER:
- When you mouse over the population counter of one of your colonized systems you get the same info-card as when you mouse over the system name. I think this can be improved to instead show an info-card with details on the current population of the system.
3. PRODUCTION IMAGE:
- When you mouse over the production image of one of your colonized systems you get an info-card of the current production item. This is good and doesn’t need improvement.
- When clicking the production image of one of your colonized systems it brings you into the System View (the same as when you click on the system name or the system itself). I think this can be improved to give you a QUICK QUEUE that appears over the Galaxy View instead of bringing you into the System View. This would essentially be the same production UI that you see in the System View, just accessible in the Galaxy View. This is already done for the hangar UI when you click on the UI element, in the Galaxy View, showing that ships are docked on a system.
Mock image showing the Production Quick Queue after clicking the Production Image above the System, Prisum:
There are times when I do not need all the details that the System View provides when deciding what production to queue next. This would also be helpful when queueing production based on the tactical positioning of a system. For example, quickly queueing ships on systems that you want to launch an attack from.
Thank You!
