Quests are one of the things that invest players in the game by having them take part in an ongoing story. What I propose is that we give each hero a unique quest, much like faction quests.
As there are a lot of heroes, this is something that could snowball into the realm of the impractical if not done carefully. It would make sense for quests to be multi-stage, but not as long as the faction quests. Say, 3 separate stages, perhaps with some degree of branching outcome. Furthermore, I would recommend that players need to level up their heroes to engage in the quest. As an example, once your hero reaches level 10, you have an option to spend the level to unlock their specific quest, instead of a new trait on their skill tree. Once the quest line has been finished, the hero will gain a unique, powerful skill, possibly varying with quest outcome.
This is an idea that could be scaled up or down in terms of quality and quantity of quest content. Ideally, this would be released as part of a DLC or expansion focused on heroes. I just think that further fleshing out heroes would be neat, and what's more heroic that going on a quest?
