Resource Depletion on Planets

 What if there were a limited number of resources (strategic and luxury) that could be harvested from a given planet.  (or at least a game slider that would allow resources to be limited).


Say small (500), medium (1000), and large deposits (2000).


Scrapping a ship would return half the strategic resources (rounded down) back to the owner.


This would make trading for supplies more relevant (both between players and the marketplace).


This would also press a race to look for that next "good" planet system.

This would be best as an option used for the start of a game.  It could make a game significantly harder.
